The program, which has a retail price of $100, can be downloaded for free for Windows or Macintosh systems and lasts for a year. While the process involves adding the item to the cart and checking out, it is not necessary to enter billing information. What you do need is a valid email address as license code and download link are sent to that address.

How long does that activation code last? Can you keep it for years until you actually need to do some recovery?

Kudos to the deal poster. Accidently deleted a partition using minitool partition manager and would have had to pay for a license to recover it. This program is now recovering the deleted partition including the file structure many thanks indeed

This is neat, thank you!
Nice that it's free. Note. Only lasts for a year.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I USE YOUR DIY SOFTWARE?

DIY Software

You have unlimited recoveries for one year. The software can be activated on up to five different computers. Please note that each activation is unique to each computer.

Website painfully slow for everyone else?

It appears I clicked on the ‘Download Now’ link which is only for the trial version. Scroll down a little until you see the Premium version section then click on ‘Add To’ link to add product to cart. Then checkout.

Which explains why I never received an email containing a licence key.

Yes, but got to the order confirmation screen eventually so it is worth being patient.
I've tried unsuccesfully but keeping getting an error. Fed up trying now.
Can it be used to retrieve deleted files from memory stick?
The website is stuck on loading for me
Is it 1 year from purchase, or key activation?
Link broken for anyone?

One way to find out, a year to try
It might be better to simply choose a maker of more reliable hard drives.
WD (HGST) springs immediately to mind.

My order says pending payment .. nothing sent to me at this point. Pending payment of £0.00. I wonder how long this will stay like this before it recovers. Think I should try again? I see that I ended up with 2 copies , perhaps that's why I am awaiting 'payment'? Thoughts?

No such thing as a 100‰ reliable drive
Just keep making VMS and run it on these means it's free for life!!
Also just had a power cut half way through recovering files and turned pc back on and the software remembered everything it had scanned and i continued where i left off so it looks like it saves what it finds even if you shut the app. 10/10
For folks who keep reporting it as expired, Its still very much free, the site is just slow, so keep calm and carry on

Well I was up in the early hours and downloaded both Mac and PC apps in a few seconds. Maybe the servers are very busy?
I keep getting database corruption errors on the site.
I've not been able to access this since I tried last night - I think I've tried it about half a dozen times!
Maybe bit of a technical question (probably should go forums specific I think!) but I've recently had HDD died on me and was a physical fault, eventually it was unrecoverable due to disks being scratched.
As such, I'm looking at more traditional/alternative cold storage solutions, main reasons for this are:
# HDD needs some sort of NAS or raid feature for redundancy, which requires time to learn all these protocols
# Maintenance costs (HDD is only really safe for 5-7 yrs, needs to be constant spinning so software can detect when it is going etc)
# Costs of services when off the shelf free back up/recovery systems wont work

Q1; will blu ray's DL or XL (M-disc?) last significantly longer than HDDs? From my understanding it "should do" but not tested yet as it has not been long enough. We know DVD DL are pretty durable, if high quality we're talking 10-20yrs++.
Q2; are the above valid enough reasons for going blu ray DL or XL?

My storage are mainly photos and videos which I dont intend to dig back up frequently (TB's)

After trying most of the day.....at last.....finally made it to the final screen to purchase. Then it asks me for all my details name, address, tel number etc. Filled in form with random info and success, email sent with licence key.
Took 4 mins on my end. If it works in regards to recovering deleted pics I'm happy
