This one is fully modular, that's where most of the price hike comes from.

But is it gold, modular and tier A?

Bronze, no sign of anything modular, tier unknown.
Why wasn't this on sale 8 hours ago when I bought a 550w PSU? I get free delivery from scan too. Ah well, got an RM550X which seems to be almost as good.

Can you cancel delivery or refuse it? I'd definitely prefer a Seasonic PSU over a CWT.

Could try to refuse the delivery but can't be arsed with the risk/hassle really. They both get 'Tier A' and long warranties at least.

You're right, I'm not a fan of refusing delivery for something expensive.
Thought my EVGA 10 year warranty was impressive!
Have PSU prices skyrocketed? A year ago i bought a 750w Platinum EVGA PSU for the same price following a deal posted on here, plus the deal only got like 200 degrees.

Yes and no. Seasonic PSU's are normally more expensive than say EVGA, Corsair, even if they're rebranded Seasonic

You can't judge the overall marketplace based on the price of just two different units, sold over a year apart, manufactured by different companies.
That's like trying to extrapolate the Mona Lisa from two dots.
Nice product, very nice.. personal pref i pref the riotoro at the near same price, gold 850w.. just a personal pref at this price.

Quite a bit cheaper, Seasonic quality. I was not aware they made those kinds of PSUs. Glad they do as I’d sooner choose one over anything else at that price imho.

Of course the Prime series will be superior. I don’t thin Scan are being super competitive with this price though.

^^ This. The Riotoro 850W deal is a Seasonic OEM build. Mine just arrived - opened it up and the build quality and component choices are great.

Then again, 550W is enough for most builds, it's cool to have the Seasonic name - but do you really want a white PSU with all that dust?

Also this gets its price from being white themed too
