Its Ultra-high efficiency and outstanding performance are the fine results of Seasonic’s continuous commitment to innovation and advancement. Improved low-load efficiency, highly suppressed ripple noise and a generous 12-year manufacturer’s warranty are just some of the characteristics that set these series apart from other power supplies on the market.

80 PLUS® PLATINUM
The PRIME Snow Silent 650 Platinum achieves 80 PLUS® Platinum certification with its 92 % efficiency at 50 % system load.

MICRO TOLERANCE LOAD REGULATION
Seasonic’s latest design keeps the output voltage within a very tight range, achieving under 0.5 % load regulation. This impressive electrical performance and stability makes this power supply an ideal choice for high-performance systems.

PREMIUM HYBRID FAN CONTROL
Seasonic’s vast experience in designing the most silent and efficient power supplies on the market was translated into the development of Hybrid Mode; a state-of-the-art fan control that enables users to keep the overall fan noise at the lowest possible level.

FLUID DYNAMIC FAN BEARING
High performance Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fans are designed to take advantage of the impact absorbance effects of oil. They are extremely reliable and generate considerably less operating noise and heat than ball bearing fans. The lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration and therefore lowers overall power consumption. Due to the effortless, quieter rotations and its robust construction, this reliable fan technology also greatly increases the lifespan of the fan.

HOW IT WORKS
When the fan shaft rotates, high pressure oil drifts along the grooves of the bearing sleeve to generate a thin layer of lubrication between the bearing faces. As the speed increases, so does dynamic oil pressure and the shaft is lifted from the bearing to create smooth, effortless rotations. The herringbone shape of the groves helps to efficiently channel the lubricant and avert leakage.

CABLE-FREE CONNECTION DESIGN
Seasonic’s engineers have implemented a new design feature, where instead of cables; the back panel and the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) are connected by a copper plate. This breakthrough solution not only lowers the chance of production errors during manual insertion but it also improves output power quality.
Features• 80 PLUS® Platinum certified
• Micro Tolerance Load Regulation (0.5 %)
• Cable-free Connection Design
• Premium Hybrid Fan Control - Fanless until 40 % load
• Gold plated connectors
• 12 years warranty

Quality PSU and always worth buying a good one. Will easily last 2-3 complete re-build cycles.
Very nice design, quiet unit, hot
Can't go wrong with a Seasonic
Heat, seasonic make superb PSU's, I have one myself
I rather buy fanless. Fans always break after some time and create noise. They also suck up dust in the air

I always wanted to go fanless, but couldn't find anything reliable enough at a decent price. Is there anything you'd recommend?

I think we all would but find me a Fanless 650w PSU at this price with a 12 year warranty and I will snap it up myself.

I use a silverpower 460w fanless since ~2013 and still going great!

Silverpower use seasonic design (oem partner)

This: kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/zardon/silver-power-sp-s460fl-460w-review-fanless-psu/7/

It’s running a moderate gaming rig flawlessly (i5, gtx970)

Thanks very much! Sounds reliable and well designed, I'll check it out.

There is 2 extra years warranty with this so I'd still say it's a good buy. Also seasonic are rated the best PSU manufacturer in the industry, (not just my opinion) the P2 is still great though although it's not one of EVGAs seasonic models it's a superflower which is still very good, you got a good deal. I did see it myself with the ebay code. Unfortunately not available at that price anymore, a couple of quid difference now between this and the P2 so I'd definitely be taking the extra warranty. If the P2 comes back up at that price again then it will be the better buy again.

This says the fans aren't turned on until load hits 40% anyway. Normal internet browsing/word processing would mean no fans. Gaming with a power hungry card would no doubt bring them on.

Imho superflower is better than seasonic, also 2 years extra warranty means nothing, they both have overkill warranty we dont even know if we will be using these types of power supplies in 12 years lol
