Seen a few good car/leasing deals, and this should be among them.

A really good spec Leon, at a great price. There is a deposit to pay (including a fee) as detailed in the title.

Total cost over the 2 years is £5,520. Car Tax band is A! parkers.co.uk/car…62/

Is leasing worth it? Personal choice...

Do you want/need a car every few years? Do you do a set mileage that you pretty much know what you will do in a year? Do you buy a car on finance, reach the end of the agreement, then sell the car? If the answer is yes, then leasing is YES!

If you pay for a car outright or on finance and then keep for a few years (for "free" driving), keep cars for longer than 4 years, and prefer to buy second hand, then no, leasing is not for you.

Why is this a good deal?

List price is £18,653 (often inflated, and can be had cheaper)
DriveTheDeal price (for comparison) £16,131

2 year old Leon's, which are the "old" shape, and therefore have lost value, are listed for around £11-12k on Autotrader (2 years up to 20k miles).

This means you are effectively paying for the depreciation, without the hassle of re-sale afterwards.

ok its not £4.5k, but it is £5.5k and i'd much rather pay the extra 1k and own the vehicle..

VW's problem company, they only seem to appeal with UK drivers in the guise of the well kitted special editions. Seat actually made marginal increase in sales last year, about 1.5% but most of those down to cheaper "Copa" version of the out going models.

I suspect you can probably haggle hard on a used model and get a serious discount.

We offer our ex-fleet cars back to the company employees and even £2K off the suggest market price and everyone is passing, waiting for the Focus or Audi. Which says a lot about how much your trade in might actually be worth down the line!

I have put an all out ban on all Seats except the Leon TDI and Alhambra TDI effective Dec. 2013, even them im second guessing myself!

You would pay £5,500 for an insurance write-off car?

Having owned a 1.3 CDTI for nearly 6 years, tyres, brake pads and annual servicing apart, the car has been 100% reliable and 50 mpg!

Of course " V Car " means that it is an insurance total loss.

if you don't know that, you really should not be buying used cars.

I'm shocked they're even commenting on car related threads.

Maybe ad02don thinks it means Very shiny paint on the front end car.

Probably thought that it belonged to Vicar.(_;)

Have some heat mate.

For someone who does want to lease it seems like a good deal to me. E.g. depending on personal tax allowance/BIK this could work out cheaper by taking a cash allowance instead of taking a fleet company car.

The hater's gotta hate...

The new Leon has consistently been the fourth best selling car in the sector behind Focus, Golf and Astra, is multi award winning and a cracking car for the money. I have a 1.2 TSi at the moment and it is a phenomenal car.
