Sorry long post but hopefully I can be helpful.

I bought one of these in January and it was delivered last week. At that time the SE price was slightly lower at £12.8k. I went for the dynamic as I wanted the front parking sensors.

Really nice car plenty of toys inside. I particularly like the auto hold on the electronic parking brake- I don't even think about handbraking now even when parking. I've had some issues with the ride as it's very hard. Could just be the roads where I am (Edinburgh). It drives beautifully until you hit a bump, speedbump or pothole, then these jolts are really noticeable it the cabin. I've read it might soften up as the car beds in. Apart from that I'm very happy.

Drive the deal are a broker. You pay your deposit to them (£500) and they organise the sale with the dealer. You don't pay anything else til the car is delivered. My dealer was in Kent but you don't find this out until after you've paid the deposit.

This price assumes you are taking finance, there was a 2.5k discount on mine for taking the VAG finance. you can take the finance then cancel it and pay with a loan instead. I took this out and then paid it off after 2 days - you have 14 days within which you can cancel a finance agreement without penalty . There were no issues with VAG finance making the repayment of the finance, I had to pay an extra £5 in interest for the 2 days. Once you tell them you intend to repay they fix the amount due and you have 30 days to make the repayment. You can't pay more than £5k of this by credit card.

Everything was OK with the dealer, though we only ever corresponded by email, not by phone. I was disappointed though that the car was driven to me from Kent to Edinburgh, this meant it had 450 miles. On it before I got behind the wheel. I'm told I could have paid around an extra £400 to have it sent by transporter... But the delivery by driver was free. unfortunately they didn't tell me this til after they had organised it and I queried it.

My local Seat dealership couldn't come within 3k of this price. I phoned them telling them how much I was paying and where I was getting the car, they said 'come in and we will do you a deal' then when I got there they wasted an hour and a half on my time. Wouldn't even let me test drive the car.

I've had no problems whatsoever with 'kangarooing'. I would say that, like a lot of new cars, the clutch is barely used, the car clearly wants the clutch lifted the second you've changed gears. There is no 'easing' the clutch up or 'balancing' the clutch and petrol peddles you just press and depress it quickly like a switch.

Worth noting there is a new model coming out later this year or early next year. Its a noticibly different shape with a much squarer/flatter grille like a mini Ateca - only seen 'spyshots' so far. Could be one reason the price is so low.

Haha, quality mate
So if the total is £13,035.00, that's a 30% deposit of £3910.50 leaving a balance of £9,124.50

Using moneysupermarket.com/loa…or/

If paid off over 4 years at 6.8% APR that comes out at £216.79 a month.

Did I get that right?

Looks correct, I would have thought APR should be 2.9% ish for that amount.

When I bought mine in January I wasn't even shown the finance agreement, I had to ask for a copy and I was sent a screen grab of a Seat finance calculator. This wasn't mentioned again and I didn't see any agreement til the day they shipped the car. If I hadn't asked I don't believe I'd have seen the repayments til I had the car - It was clearly assumed I was taking the 'standard' finance package

This was described as hire purchase.

£500 deposit
£13, 355 left to pay (se dynamic with extended warranty).

£172 a month for 4 years
Final balloon payment of £7800 ish.
10k miles a year, additional 6p charge per mile.

If you pay a bigger deposit I'd imagine you would get lower monthlies but still a balloon payment for around 50% of the finance amount.

You can get a loan for the same amount for around 2.8/2.9%. IIRC the difference in interest between the two was pretty much the amount of the finance deposit contribution made by Seat.

Hi quick question... is the 30% deposit something that the deal implies is a must? Or is this a figure you've come up with for yourself? Thanks

Regprentice, I noticed on the DTD advert that you can get 2 years free servicing if you take the PCP deal. If it’s paid off like you did, did you still get the 2 yrs free servicing? Thanks

That's must be a new offer, I didnt see it in January. The way DTD have written that page I can't tell whether that's supposed to be specific to the Cupra or not.

If you complete the query form you'll get a call from DTD. Id ask them to clarify the terms then, though I wouldn't tell them you intend to repay the finance.

It'll be listed on your invoice I'd assume so you'll have evidence of it. I took an extra 2 years warranty but all I have to prove it is a line on my Invoice. Its all digital now, for example, I was surprised there was no logbook to stamp services up but apparently that information is now stored in the cars menu on the media touchscreen.

Ive spoken to my original dealer a couple of times recently and it's never been mentioned that I cancelled my finance.
Thank you. Could I ask what the realistic mpg is please? And also, what is it like on motorways?

Hi again Regprentice.

If I were to cancel the finance agreement & pay by other means, is it 14 days from ordering the car or 14 days from the car being delivered? The lead time is quite long.

Thanks for your help.

It's 14 days from the date of the finance agreement. I signed my finance agreement electronically the Friday and got my car delivered on the Tuesday. It was another 2 days before Seat finance could even seem car on their system. I had to phone them twice before I was able to give notice.
