Good if you can get it but I've tried a few of these Screwfix specials only to turn up and find they don't actually have it. Their automated systems don't seem to match the reality.

Why don't you buy online? I've never had a problem with the stock system. Could be someone else has bought in the time you have driven to the shop.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^also someone could order it online by the time you get to the shop, especially if it's on hukd. I normally buy online, very occasionally I've checked stock while in their car park (when I forgot something on the list) their stock system always worked perfectly.

1.5m for £1 more if you need a longer one. Trouble is a decent padlock is going to cost about three times that. Lower security but a good deal on a combination braided steel lock for £2.99 here.

Buying a new item once it's been pinched in 5 seconds is not such a good deal to me

That's quite scary. Do we know what kind of lock it was? I might test the Screwfix one and see if I can break it that easily. Hope they accept returns for items that have been broken with minimal force.

Interesting video. Pleased to say I have the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini for my bike and I always try to fill the D with frame and rear wheel as they suggest.

Ultimately, you want your bike to look less appealing than anyone elses factoring in it's apparent worth!

And of course, there are some places where you don't have to concern yourself too much, and there are places where you wouldn't leave a bike out for any length of time!
