The Natural History Museum’s famous Diplodocus, known as Dippy, is taking a road trip to Birmingham from 26th May - 9th September 2018. The British icon is on a mission to inspire five million natural history adventures, encouraging families to explore nature on their doorstep.

Dippy on Tour will be a free ticketed event. Advanced booking is advised as this will be a very popular exhibition.

Experience what it is like to be a palaeontologist in this fun family activity. £2.00 per child.

Using tools to excavate bones, fossils and fragments, uncover our own dinosaur skeleton buried in our giant sand pit.

We will be running three timed sessions during the day, and advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Time slots are: 10.45am - 11.45am, 12.15pm - 1.15pm and 2.45pm – 3.45pm

Activity runs from 26 May to 9 Sept on every Saturday and Sunday during the Dippy on Tour exhibition, and every Tuesday and Thursday during the May half term holiday and Birmingham School Summer holiday.

Please be aware that the Dino Dig is situated separately to the exhibition and runs at specific times as part of an organised session.

For capacity reasons, we may ask to restrict the number of accompanying adults with children attending the activity.

Thanks @sa1990 I've added what the deal is, the fact it's free and where it is to the title.
Thanks for posting. We already have the free tickets to see Dippy so this will be a nice activity to do beforehand.
34334493.jpgWe went to see dippy about a week ago 😁 just walked in .. sounds like that's - it's not always necessary to pre-book.

Apparently there is an associated meet 'Dippy the Politician' offer in Downing Street.
Great exhibit for all. Had fun last week.

Definitely is on weekends, we queued with 100 people to get in (it was still very quick). As booking is free it doesn't hurt to do so!
What else is here to keep a 3yr old entertained?
