Great games and the Ages Collection does some really good work on the ports. Heat mate

There is not too much to get excited about here for 2 player coop. Fantasy Zone could have been good but sadly its turn based 2 player. Probably Sonic 2 I would say.
Virtua Racing is BRILLIANT.

Mines bugged. The shadow under the car is corrupt. Tried reinstalling, with no joy.

And can't find mention anywhere.

Real shame

Mine is fine on Switch. But I never played original so can't compare. I'm sure the developers would be happy to hear your error report and they could advise.

Absolutely. Loved it in the arcades and bought a 32X just to play that game.

If they were straight ports/roms, I’d agree. I don’t know about all of them but extensive work has gone into some of these by M2, the daddies of their field.

Some excellent games here, will pick up any that aren’t on the Sega Mega Drive Classics Collection. Still need a couple more on the 3DS too so hoping they will go on sale as well.

Did M2 do the same ones on the Mega Drive Classics which is £14.99 just now (50%)?

Bit disappointed by the Classics Collection tbh. Heard such good reviews but some of the games have bad lag like the Sonic ones. Still glad I’ve got it as I played through the Streets of Rage games before playing the 4th but I’d imagine these versions are better. I have some M2 3DS ones which are great.

Power Drift has also been on the Dreamcast (Yu Suzuki Game Works Vol 1) and the Saturn (not counting the 8 bit conversions).

But would like to play the original Ridge Racer again.

Nothings captured the drifting in Ridge Racer, or the sound track

Not over here it wasn’t
Considering the quality of these, they're honestly priced too low. Might finally grab Puyo Tsu and Sonic 2.

I'd actually go further and say 99p a game would be a reasonable price point. These are what they are!
I can thoroughly recommend Phantasy Star. This is by far the best version of the game ever made (and I've played most of them). The progress and save system have been refined, they have added a dungeon map system and performance is spot on. This isn't just another port, but an actual refinement of the game, which improves it massively.

These games are better than 99p, in that they're better than 99p games in the eShop and they're better than most at £3 too. Whether they're old or have been bought on other systems doesn't take into account the improvements and additions to these games.
If a friend has £10 to spend, I always recommend buying 3 of these rather than 10 from the 99p selection.

Nah. I could agree if they were roms and an emulator lazily thrown together - like in many collections, but M2 have earned a reputation for testing and tweaking every little detail to get them perfect.

I would agree if they were just emulated, but they put in a lot of effort to optimise individual games and make them better to play in today's world. I'm just glad they put in the effort. We all cry about them not being made but not willing to pay for it when they do put in the effort.

Virtua Racing was £70 back in the day, think the youngsters of today don’t realise that! plus some of these are timeless classics. They probably should be the same price point as the 3DS versions but .... Switch tax

Yes, also optimisations for today like reducing the grind by providing more XP. No-one today wants to kill monsters for the sake of it (at least not to do so just so that the game can boast 80+ hours!).
