I would imagine it's the same mate, ATGames/Blaze have actually lost the licence I believe, so something better might be just around the corner.
HD? My imagination has been defeated.
Perhaps there's a 4K version in the works..

Megadrive Mini? Where you get your info pal ?

It's all over the Internet buddy. Sega announced it, but then delayed it. Believed to be because they finally got rid of the crap show that is AtGames (responsible for the Sega stuff on sale today).
If you want better emulation, more games and customisation then get a Pi plus one of these from Amazon (can't get link to work) :

Is this the same as the other mega drive mini?
Or if you can wait until April 2019 and have £150 you can buy this:

analogue.co/meg…sg/

You'll need original cartridges though.

I want the SNES version of that. I have about 100 boxed with manual SNES games. Price is scary though.

There will be a proper official megadrive mini coming anyway. Don't buy this one

Nice! Maybe wait until Black Friday 2019 for them to do a special at £99 then
Or if you have an old pc/laptop you can purchase this Sega bundle for £25 from Steam which includes 59 classic mega drive games:

These are still terrible. Atgames are horrendous and even Sega has parted ways. I'd wait for the Sega mini that Sega themselves are bringing out next year
