Why buy one of these when you can buy the real thing....
I like that even though they are wireless controllers, they have a loop of cable for the antenna.
Does anyone know what the 40 games are?

Buying the real thing with 40 games is much more expensive. Also, a Mega Drive doesn't support hdmi so won't work on modern televisions. If you buy an adapter to make it work the image will look terrible compared to a CRT unless you spent hundreds on a top of the range upscaler.
I just got the Megadrive Pi case that some kind OP put up on here the other week and I have the collection on Switch, so I can give this a miss, but good price.
Why not buy that Sega Megadrive HD Collection that's doing the rounds?

I'm thinking this too. I bought a snes classic but there was no snes classic collection for the switch/ps4 etc. I'm slightly tempted by this becuase it will look cool next to the snes mini but for £65 vs £25 on switch and being able to play anywhere, not so sure its worth it just to look cool on a shelf
These will be mass produced, so I'm guessing there will be a quick price drop on them shortly after release. Its not a bad price considering you get 40 games and 2 pads, on what will be a very nice looking console.

Not for me personally, but definitely a market out there.
Will look good next to my NES and SNES Minis....just need to persuade the wife now that what we really need is another box under the telly!

Ownage!

Also, thankfully, this deal hasn't been Raspberry Pied yet. Edit: Oh wait, it has.

Slightly disapointed that the UK version is getting the 3-button pad instead of the superior 6-button version as it has a much better d-pad and obviously more buttons. Also means that Street Fighter wont be much use on it.

Aye, I'm honestly tempted to import that Japanese one just for the 6-button controller.

I have 2 mega drives mk1 and mk2 both with CD, I use a scart on both with modern TV's and the picture is great.

It very much depends on whether you want the pixels to look crisp or blurred by a standard definition image. Therefore it is completely subjective. Also, nowadays not all TVs support scart since it is a standard definition technology. This is especially the case if using a computer monitor for gaming where scart is almost unheard of. You would still need the additional purchase of a converter or, if you want sharp pixels, an upscaler which are generally very expensive.
