This one has hdmi and better emulation.
I'm all for the nostalgia
When I was growing up I owned every console
But, after buying one of these, and both the Nintendo Minis nostalgia feels like nausea

I don't know why but anyone else feel like that? I don't enjoy them at all

Mega Drive "HD"

Nice idea. I have an AtGames handheld that is preloaded with "classic" Sega Games though, and it's awful!
I got thisThe other week for £34 I’m sure is the same one

It's not the same. This specific model is 720p with HDMI output and 2 wireless controllers

That said, I'm sure this is RRP as I posted about it in July.
And it's exploitable if anyone bags one and is interested...not easy at the moment but that will change soon...

Not voted either way but don’t do it to yourself. The truly awesome console that was responsible for giving many of us our love of gaming deserves far better than this...
Haha.. Cashing in on the Nintendo nostalgia wave.
The reviews of this are bad. Very bad.
We bought one of these a couple of years ago. It's unplayable. The controllers are hardly responsive at all.

back in the days it was all about Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. I preferred Mortal Kombat which was on the megadrive

This version has the 2.4Ghz wireless controllers. The old version has infrared controllers which are nowhere near as good.

Excellent review here, this 2017 model shouldn't be confused with the previous versions.
I'm actually very tempted after watching this!
Just buy a secondhand Wii and whack homebrew on it. Or better yet, buy one with it already installed off eBay for 30 odd quid.

Wireless ones are rubbish, unless you are directly in front of the box it doesn't work and stutters.
No streets of rage?!
Welcome to your doom! He he ha ha he he he.

Yes, one more thing to go wrong.

Agreed. Better buying one with the Gamecube ports ideally (if possible), GC emulation is right on the money.

So was street fighter 2
Why not buy an old Xbox with coin ops on it for less than this with over 5000 games???
Isn’t this just the RRP? This looks a terrible console for the money. Not even genuine Sega. You would be better buying a Wii and soft modding to play all of old consoles
This one has hdmi out, resolved sound issues and 2.4ghz wireless controllers, it was in retro gamer the other week. If you're after a mega drive mini I'd definitely go for this version

I think its more about the nostalgic feeling of playing on an old console before the days of wifi and online multiplayer, playing a few of your favourite classic games and bringing back childhood memories. An xbox with 5000 games wouldnt be nostalgic for me, allthough I can't speak for everyone. Mega drive with 80 games > xbox with 5000 games. Its all about the nostalgia
Best off with a Raspberry Pi, 2 wireless controllers and tons of emulators and 20k games (inc Megadrive)already installed for about 90 quid. This HUKD console isnt made by Sega and is a poor emulation to the original Megadrive and the controllers only work when directly pointed at the console. (See any youtube review). The raspberry Pi emulator I mentioned will be very accuarate to the original Megadrive and is widely available on ebay

Anything with the words “Mega Drive” gets heat from me!

Dont think its the same hasnt this one got the hdmi output and more games? Still crap sound emulation tho.
Thanks for putting me off or saving me £80.

the laser quality on the hand sets is awful
Must apologise for my inaccurate last post. This is the latest 2017 model and is a vast improvement from the other one that was released a couple of years ago. This version has the 2.4ghz wireless controllers which work MUCH better than on the older console that had wireless controllers which you had to point at the console to get them to work. The menu system is tons better, more professional and looks good plus the niggling factor of the sound is now console perfect so they must have changed the soundchip. It also has an option to rewind a game by 7 seconds which is good if you fancy cheating. I must point out though that only half of the 85 games are Megadrive games, the other half are made up of Sega Master System games, Sega Handheld games and basic games like chess which never existed on the original console. I would say the £79.99 retail price is now more justified due to the obvious upgrades on the older aftermarket Megadrive.

Avoid this one, really really low quality product. Just has "SEGA" logo, nothing inside.
