This one has hdmi and better emulation.
I'm all for the nostalgia
When I was growing up I owned every console
But, after buying one of these, and both the Nintendo Minis nostalgia feels like nausea

I don't know why but anyone else feel like that? I don't enjoy them at all

I think a lot of people are getting confused between this new 2017 version and the previous version which had issues with controllers and sound and emulation of certain games
I've still got the original, yes maybe not 80+ games but I have the important ones!

Reviews on this product aren' t best either.

Same problem here. Wondering is this wired version is any better. Must be ;D
Wow I remember this!

Both were on both machines, just different versions

Or buy a PS3 / Xbox 360 and get the Sega Megadrive Collection. Then you have HDMI, upscaled games and wireless controllers

I've got 4 or 5 Wii's under the bed in a drawer that I was going to do this to.

4 or 5 you say? Yes, also one downstairs.

Why, you ask. Well, I got a bit carried away on eBay & CeX and ended up spending some £400 on 50+ games, 10+ wiimotes, 10+ Wiis in different conditions/bundles... cba selling them on for what you'd get for them
These all have that stupid design flaw of moving up and down on menus with B & C... So stupid. Get a SNES mini and put roms on it. WIN

I think its more about the nostalgic feeling of playing on an old console …I think its more about the nostalgic feeling of playing on an old console before the days of wifi and online multiplayer, playing a few of your favourite classic games and bringing back childhood memories. An xbox with 5000 games wouldnt be nostalgic for me, allthough I can't speak for everyone. Mega drive with 80 games > xbox with 5000 games. Its all about the nostalgia

I love nostalgia. But this seems pretty lame in terms of emulation. I'm not Getting bored of my coin ops. My son who is 6 loves track and field!! So do I for the record

Anything with the words “Mega Drive” gets heat from me!

720p? 720 poop

Hilarious isn't it, who cares about 720p on these games, the HD tech wasn't even about when they were released. Fools.

They are in stock in Worksop if anyone lives near there who is wanting one
If i got my son whos 7 one of these he would be like WTF is this sht and go back to his PS4 lol...
This looks VERY solid. I wonder if there would be a way to load other games (maybe via the Game cartridge slot)? Anyway the game selection looks good, menus look good, and emulation looks fast. It would go very nicely next to my SNES Mini...

No.
I enjoy the SNES Classic throughly.
Play it few times a week, while feel really lazy to play PS4..This one tough,I wouldn't bother, if it's made byAt Games it means it's terrible.I won't even pay £10 for it.
Very very tempted!
Mungus13/12/2017 18:48

Haha.. Cashing in on the Nintendo nostalgia wave.

Sega have been making Mega Drive nostalgia devices for years, though admittedly not in this format.

Just tell him Sonic is a Minecraft Story Mode expansion
Be very careful about this!
Not in the same league as the NES and SNES classics.
Licensed product, reviews are terrible on various tech sites. Bad sound emulation and a load of crap freeware games also.
One benefit is that you can use original cartridges with this.

Same here, I love my snes mini. Just wish I had more time to play it!
Stay away from these as the sound emulation is meant to be awful. Watch some YouTube videos before you buy

Sega don’t make these.these are licenced by Sega and made bu cheap Chinese companies.
they are all terrible with poor build and poor sound and awful controllers.nothing even close to real system or the likes of SNES Mini that was made by Nintendo with top notch quality.
These are shockingly bad and a cheap rip off to capitalise on the success of the NES and SNES mini classics.

Note only 45 of the 85 are actually Megadrive games...

Read my post. This is not the same one they brought out the other year. The sound is fixed and is 100% accuarate to the original and the menu interface looks very good now. The wireless joypads work on 2.4ghz now so you can sit anywhere and will work. This is a big improvement on the other one

Mate. All fixed. This is the updated one, new better menus and now 100% accurate sound emulation
£80? Has no one heard of retro pi?
Or.... Just get a Raspberry Pi 3 and have all the old systems with full game libraries. Look for the 32GB Swineapple image made by a guy called Mad Little Pixel. It's amazing, couldn't ask for a better set up 32gb image

I’d love to believe you.
But I’m not spending £80 to find out. Also still doesn’t change the fact all the freeware is on... should have kept it official Sega only

Better wait for reviews but honestly I never pay this much for a licenced item made by a awful Chinese company like At Games.I don’t think they are capable if making anything decent, they just don’t.also the controller always poor on these.you can even see in picture..

Like I said in my first post for a few quid more you can purchase a raspberry pi unit with 2 wireless controllers loaded with hundreds of Megadrive games alongside Nes,Snes,Arcade and 8bit computers. These systems emulate pretty much perfect

Whatever are you on about
These are awful horribly built and lack the quality you would expect from Sega.. Cheap China imports. £80 is an insult imo, closer to £8 more like. Unlike the official Nintendo ones which people actually want to collect

Thats fine, neither am I. All Im saying is, is that ive looked at a few youtube reviews and all say the sound is fixed and its more closer to the original megadrive now. I personally prefer a configured Raspberry Pi at roughly the same cost with much more on there and option to add.
