Dependant on the courier you'll also have a handling fee. Royal mail will ask for £8.00 on top of this.

Wow, that looks really nice. Best combination of looks and build quality you can get in this price range imo.
Nice price, got the green 805 myself, can't fault it

Oddly I just done the same yesterday with a new light tan leather strap
Has anyone put a G10 on this?
The code CHRISTMAS knocks it down a fair bit (might not last much longer) - though, of course, be aware Customs may nab it (Royal Mail was reckoned to be least-likely but a few have reported back recently they also got charges DHL is a dead cert)39538035-1KbIJ.jpg39538035-4vSde.jpg

I thought thereis no duty to pay on watches, only VAT plus handling charges.

Fair dos, I'm just parroting the language others use. So it would be 20% VAT + Royal Mail Handling Fee £8. Mentioned here

There is no import duty on watches imported to the UK from non-EU countries. Only VAT is charged, currently 20% of the declared value. (Many other imported items are charged duty as well as VAT - camera equipment for example). So how much you will pay depends on the declared value that the seller has written on the customs label on the outside of the package. Some sellers are sticklers, and will not adjust this in your favour. Others will do a little downwards adjustment. Anything coming into the UK via the main carriers like FedEx and Parcel Force will also be subject to a handling charge, usually between £10 and £15 GBP.

(Think Creation used to do the "$15 measuring instrument adjustment" but that was a long time ago, I've only ordered from there twice in last year - both low cost watches).

With DHL, apparently you just pay the 20% without Handling Fee, mentioned here

(Edit: Deleted the word Duty, so there's no confusion)

How accurate are these?
On the basis this is a £60 watch, I would not bother myself with DHL an OEM box and guaranteed additional fees.

So apply CHRISTMAS code, pay for RM at £6.19 and in all likelihood the watch will arrive shipped from the UK (Ireland) without any additional fees and thus £58.19 all in.

A) What was the value of the order?
B) Did you pay for Royal Mail or take the free Airmail?
C) Where did the package originate from?
Hot! But you will most likely be stung by import fees

Out of the box it could vary... probably anything from -25 to +25 seconds per day. Mine was +6 secs per day after it settled which is nuts for a £50 auto. This a really durable movement rather than a highly accurate one, but it can still be regulated to a very decent level of performance.

My wee girl
CHRISTMAS Code takes £9 off. Not too fussed about the delivery cost as it’s a bargain. Paypal processing did not declare any postage costs, in fact it said free delivery between 4 to 6 days.
Let’s see
Hi folks, when I seiko watches different glass is mentioned under either the names sapphire crystal,Hardlex crystal, and mineral could anyone explain which is the best one to get to try and avoid scratches and which is the worst please

Did you select free DHL or free Air Mail or pay for Royal Mail?

It’s very rare for The DHL option to arrive without additional costs. Keep us posted.

Hardlex is Seiko's brand of mineral glass. It's less scratch resistant than sapphire but less likely to shatter. I've not managed to scratch either.

Free air mail

Free air mail

Good stuff and it would be great if you could come back and let us know how you get on. With Free air mail you get a flat packed non OEM box and a reasonable chance of no VAT/fees. Knowing where the package shipped from would be good too as lower value RM shipments seem to come RM 48Hrs from Ireland.

Bought the Seiko 5 Sports SNZG15K just before Christmas from Creation Watches and had it sent Royal Mail instead of the free DHL and the watch was sent from the UK so no charges and only took just over a week and was a signed for parcel.

Good feedback regards goods shipping from UK and this is in line with my understanding of the handling of the popular lower value watches.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that Creation bulk ship to a warehouse in UK at minimal cost, which saves Creation the single unit International DHL costs per item. This offsets the VAT payable and customer pays the Royal Mail 48Hrs.

You are correct, so it’s really just about hedging your bets and taking a chance. There are certain watches however that seem to sell really well year on year such as the SNZF17 and SNZG15 and my and colleagues experiences with the SNZF17 when it was sub £100 was that it shipped from Ireland with a Salford returns address. This being a company who manage creations UK returns.

But I'd be one that wouldn't take a chance. I would however buy if I knew it would be from UK and avoid all the import hassles esp if there was a problem with the watch. I hope they can work this info onto their site.
Trust pilot give very varied reviews about creation watches. I hedged my bets with this watch. For 50 quid its worth a punt. Not much margin left either way.
Anyone received their watches yet? I'm still waiting - using Royal Mail

Good news. So Free Air Mail, no additional fees but took a while?

I am guessing package originated in Asia as opposed to being delivered by RM 48 Hrs from Ireland?

Mmm! Still waiting for my watch! Raised a query with Creation and they emailed with a Tracking Number from SIngapore - which said it had just been posted the day of my Query 16th Jan! Even though it was supposed to have been shipped on the 8TH Jan.
Not too pleased.
