Seiko 5 Automatic watch with 4R35 movement (hacking and hand winding) with 100m WR, Hardlex Crystal and rotating countdown bezel. Seems like a very good watch for the price in the H Samuel sale.

Amazon do the same price

Cheeky Amazon have done a price match, was £199 when I posted this deal. Decent evidence of Amazon putting a bit of a strangle on the 'high street'

I know, if I didn't have a Heimdallr 6105 homage arriving in 2 days I'd probably have bitten with this price!
I brought the black one for a little more

Thanks ordered for my dad. He had a Seiko 5 for donkeys before he broke it
Nice deal. It would cost you this price from Creation, with all the caveats that go with it. Inc likely import taxes.
Heat.

You often only get a generic Seiko box from Creation. Or no box at all with some shipping.
Ordered. Not liking the bezel colour on the pics but on YouTube it seems a bit darker. Now to find a weekend watch
Thanks OP. great price for a 4R35 movement. Also signed up to newsletter so £112.50 delivered.
I have quite a few Seiko autos, but if were to buy anymore, these newer Seiko 5 Sports is what i would buy. The prices of the latest 5's haven't got stupidly expensive like the 200mtr Seiko auto divers have. You still get 4r movements and 100 mtr WR is more than good enough for the vast majority of people.
Get em now when they're this price, before the prices start going the way of the Monsters, Turtles and Samurais.
To avoid any confusion, whilst this is IMHO a good deal, this watch is an older model and not one of the newer Seiko 5 Sports that make up the range of 27 off all with model numbers SRPD????.

The newer models are easily identified by the 4R36 (Day Date), the crown at 4pm, the inclusion of a crown guard, no reference on dial to WR, no numbers on dial and a very stylised “5” at a jaunty angle.

My opinion as to why this watch may be reduced (not selling) is that at 44mm it’s a bit of a beast and the countdown bezel (numbers reversed) is a bit unusual. Funnily enough, nobody mentioned the bezel?

This series of 5's only came out last year. I consider that still a recent model. The 4r movements have always had 35 and 36 variants, because some people don't like the day complication and just having the date gives the watch a cleaner face.
As for the bezel, i quite like it, it makes a change from the usual dive bezel markings, being as the 5's mostly aren't a dive watch anyway.
If i didn't have far too many watches already, i'd be tempted by it. 44mm isn't big to me and i like the design of it.

I hear ya but the issue with the newest (not newer) Seiko 5 Sports is that the pricing is IMHO way too high for a 5 series watch. Looking around the cheapest I can find some of the newest 5 models such as SRPD67K1 is £240. Now when the Turtles and Samurais can be picked up for sub £300 or a lot less (Mini Turtle Black £239 and Samurai Black/Silver £270 currently) it’s impossible for me to consider the newest model 5 Series, at least for now with prices as they are.

Yes, i agree Seiko are taking the p*ss on pricing with many of their models now.
Well that turned out to be a bit of a bargain, on holiday in the lakes ATM went in to take a look at this in Samuels, Yep still £125 looks a cracker, the girl said she can price match any online price I saw, I told her about the 10% extra I can get via the email, she said to the manager and she said she can do the same 10% off today, I said was that it Hmmmm ok another 5% today if your buying as they are trying to get customers spending in stores on the high street again, which I thought was good, so I think it was now down to about £106 After trying it on my wrist, I said to the girl do you think the Manageress would do it for £100 she shouted over to her, cash she asked I said if you want and there you go deal done for £100 cash, fully boxed with big thick User manual, I think this is pretty good for £100, I don't you will see it much cheaper etc, so thanks OP another one for my 40 year collection

maxmix

PS I have the receipt here showing £125 with the £25 off incase anyone needs to go haggling to a store

Unbelievable tekkers
Anyone had any issues with their watch? I went to store to pick up my order today, the watch had no tag or stickers on and had lots of scratches on one side. Told them I was rejecting it as it clearly not new. It was the last one and head office had no more left, so they had to ask another store to send them one for me to pick up later next week.

Does anyone know if stock for home delivery and store pickup come from different sources? I'm thinking whether to order one for home delivery instead as I'm not confident the one next week will be good.

Definitely carefully your watches. Couldn't believe the one I received.

It's just a return that they have tried to fob you off with. It's not like it's some back ally place so I'm sure all will be well.

I'm with you on the above.
Re the watch in the op, I'm not sold on the reverse bezel, and not too keen on 4 o'clock date windows either.
The black & gold version looks handsome (& I'm not keen on gold usually) but I think 44mm is a bit big for my skinny wrists.
I do have a Casio mdv106 Duro but again I think it's too big for me.
Good price for a Seiko automatic though
