Real tightwads might prefer to buy a Square Small Travel Clock with nightlight from aliexpress for 75p, or £1.28 for the deluxe version delivered. Cashback possible. Both the examples of these clocks that I have seen keep good time though the cases are flimsy. They take an AA cell.

I have done these things before but not anymore... these cheap stuff works for few days/weeks and then you buy a new one .....
Does this clicking noise which could be annoying

If it's a sweep movement it should be silent. Remembering an old Westclox I used to have as a kid - the TICK TICK TICK drove me to distraction!

I think it's from the sweeping hand going past the alarm indicator hand, from what I recall from my wife's old Seiko.
Love it & want it. However, no stock in either Peterborough store & just haven't got time to travel elsewhere at min. Heat added.
Heat added and ordered , thanks op x
Bought one, very quiet, I can hear the gear wheel move from 10 cm away. Beyond this distance, silent.
The alarm off/on switch is on the back, not so convenient (compared to being of the right hand side) for every morning.
