Lol.

This is an automatic watch.

Similar looking maybe. In terms of basic design. In that perhaps they copied the classic divers design.

This is 200M water resistant.

Hardlex crystal

Obviously so much nicer made.

Automatic movement.

A quality timepiece.

And a better brand.

As much as I love the Samurai, this one isn’t for me. Heat added as a great price.
Gorgeous watch.

Would want titanium though. Even looks titanium, but don't believe it is?

This isn't an expensive watch, honestly.

What do you get for your £300 or £3000 or the sky is the limit? It tells you what time it is. At least with cars or phones, money usually equals a tangible difference. I suppose they are simply jewelry above the base function of tell you what time it is.

I spent £100 on watch once, scraped the face on a wall and thought "what a waste of money".

In answer to your question, please see below link explaining Seiko’s partnership and their collaboration with Fabien Cousteau.

At that point in time, quite obviously. A car's abilities are rarely fulfilled by the driver's. Go do a trackday and you'll see plenty of expensive cars being overtaken by cheaper cars, massively cheaper in some cases. At least cars have multiple purposes, once again a watch tells the time and that is it.

Anyway ok, we get it you think £300 isn't expensive for a watch. I just think they're a waste of money regardless.

I spent £17,500 on a car once, then buried it into a dry stone dyke wall on a country lane and thought, "what a twat".

I replaced the car and learned to take more care.
Cheap watches scratch easily.

Crystal watches don't, e.g sapphire.

This has Hardlex crystal.

This isn't titanium I believe, but titanium watches are lighter, and don't scratch as easily - so stay looking good.

This watch is beautiful.

I thought the casio might be imitating the look but it's resin (plastic)! And black and ugly. That guy needs help.

Watches tell the time and are a piece of jewellery.

People spend a lot more on jewellery which serves no function, and a lot more on clothes when something a lot cheaper would have been more functional.

It's a good deal and very nice looking watch.

If you want some cheap plastic/resin watch, or something purely functional on a budget then go elsewhere.

It's pretty crappy for the OP, when clearly this is a good deal - they took the time to post it, and then people complain and argue against the deal/concept. Nobody wants your negativity or presence. Go moan about all the things you can "waste" your money on elsewhere. You likely all have in someone else's eyes on something else.

It will last longer. There's no battery to replace. It's higher quality. There's a very tangible difference. You'll be able to feel it.

The face was likely glass on your cheap watch. And yes £100 is cheap for a watch. You're often better off getting something that doesn't look like this watch if you're only willing to spend that much.

You need to pay more for better materials.

You need to help me understand why you have chosen this thread to have a rant about whaling?

Seiko describe the dial as being a Blue whale/wave patterned dial. The dial is not made out of Blue Whale body parts.

No, racism is bringing up whaling for a Japanese company that has nothing to do with it - other than being Japanese.

It's the same as labelling you as a fox hunter just because you're British (I assume).

You don't think a lot of Japanese people are against whaling, just as many in the UK are against fox hunting? Despite both being historical cultural practises?

Many, the majority perhaps even, of Seiko employees may well be against whaling.

Imagine if a Hot Japanese Deals website had people posting about fox hunting for a deal about some Denby mugs.

You're making an unrelated judgement on race. You're a racist.
Edited by: "Shinoke" 26th Jan 2019
Also at least the whales are eaten and used. The same can't be said for foxes and badgers in the UK.
Badgers are blamed for TB but that's apparently mostly BS and not the real issue.

So unless you're strict vegetarian or vegan, don't buy Nestle products, don't buy Coca Cola products, don't buy Californian almonds (the production of which kills lots of bumble bees), only buy organic, don't buy any trawled fish - only line caught, then you're likely hypocritical and it comes down to a value judgement - for example people rating the lives of used whales higher than the lives of wasted bumblebees or foxes, or other animals or life.

The number of vegetarian and vegans you see eating almonds that aren't organic is ridiculous. So they knowingly or unknowingly support the death of millions of bumblebees as well as environmental harm through shipping almonds from the US as opposed to organic almonds from Italy.

Anyway. Totally off topic. Seiko has nothing to do with whaling and you're a racist hypocrite quite clearly.

What utter evasionist, apologist garbage. Only one nation has withdrawn from the IWC and stated they will resume commercial whaling. Japan. For a Japanese company to then use 'save the ocean' as a tagline without one single condmnation of barbaric cetacean slaughter is hypocrisy writ large. I have not knowingly bought a single Japanese product since their 'scientific research' ( yeah, right ) whaling began and am not likely to be changing that anytime soon. Your comparisons are both odious and puerile. There is nothing quite like an exploding harpoon warhead for inflicting suffering.
