I've read on a few Seiko threads here there are problems with Seiko QC. Is that a recent thing?

Seiko's entry-level watches have always had medicore QC. Albeit you're talking typically cosmetic issues like mis-aligned chapter rings rather than function issues. These issues could be overlooked because of the excellent prices.

What's happened in the last few years is that they have increased prices without improving quality. So you have £300+ watches of similar quality & spec to £150 Seiko's from the mid 2010s. And they have the same kind of QC issues, mis-alignments etc.

Creation watches? Or somewhere else. I didn't realise how good it looked until I looked into the watch properly. Looks great on wrist!
I was debating to go with that one or the cheaper bracelet version that's ion coated. I went for the bracelet version in the end. I love the dial on these watches and yes my chapter ring is misaligned.

Lovely desk diver
I'm tempted to hold fire on these. Think the economy is about to get much worse and we should see some real fire sale prices on anything that's niche and doesn't say have the ubiquitous luxury brand appeal of Rolex, Tag etc. I'd bite at 70% discounts

Speaking of Rolex, they've had to stop manufacturing I read yesterday. Luxuries are on halt it seems.
This has been £199 at Ernest Jones but sold out online .
Stock (if any) might be sitting in stores .
Which obviously you cant get at till the lockdown has passed.
..So it might be worth a wait ...

Ernest Jones don't carry stock as such, what they sell online comes out of the nearest store with stock so if it's gone online, it's going to be very hard to find one in store.

That's one of the reasons almost everything you buy from them or h samuel has had the stickers removed and been handled because they come from window displays mainly.

11 watches I've bought in sales from them and only 2 have come with the protective stickers/ tags as you'd expect a new watch to be like.
Shame about the lucky bag strap.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and protocols we have in place as well as following the government guidelines, we have limited intake coming into our warehouse and some lines stocked in our stores that we are unable to access. We recommend checking the availability of this product once our retail stores reopen.

Yeah .
I only do click and collect from them or H Samuel so i can check the item in hand ..
Been lucky so far .

Could be some good finds when they open back up in that case, as long as the sale prices are still on!

Fuyugeshiki with the power indicator and date wheel or plain? Would like a Visodate myself but don't really get to wear the 'smarter' watches I have now so it won't get worn( that's me trying to convince myself!)
