I'm currently watching these on Amazon Prime Video, I'd always heard how good it was but had never got round to watching it before. I'm up to the series 3 episode The Pez Dispenser and can confirm that it is a very funny show, the interplay between the main actors is fantastic. These crackers are making me thirsty!
Cracking show, most of which still stands up well today. I think we're on our third run through and it is the default show if we want to fill half an hour at the end of the vening.

Of course it helps to be a little older as the comedy around getting/waiting for phone calls in particular doesn't make much sense in the world of the mobile phone.

I find the short stand up bits before/after the show poor, they haven't aged as well, but they are short and eventually get dumped in later series.

Seinfeld. Master of the iTunes domain.
TBH, i never found the guy funny.
Watching the series ( not two it's missing?) on Amazon Prime...like the sitcom, not the stand-up bits, Cosmo and Elaine make me !

It's not missing, all of two is in series one on Amazon.

Although the running order is different to IMBD...

Technically, season 1 was only 5 episodes (from memory). For some reason, Amazon have lumped season 2 into season 1 and made it look a bit odd really. Not sure why they don’t just call it season 1 & 2.

Brilliant show, which I am tempted to buy in case Amazon take them down.

Care to offer a better alternative?

Community. Parks and Rec (from 2nd season onwards) both absolutely smash anything else I've seen of late out the park.

If you want 90s stuff Fraiser still stands up very well.

The stand-up bits are only short luckily, but I think the way that you are meant to see it is that what happens in the episode are the events that give Jerry his stand-up material for the club. I wonder if perhaps the stand-up routines are deliberately meant to a bit cheesy (suggesting that he's not that great a comedian)?
Loved this in the 90's. Characters who were flawed and even unlikeable unlike the sacherine Friends. The laughter annoys me now but might be able to block it out after a while.
Seinfeld is tremendous and this is a great price.

All those who like Seinfeld and haven't watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - remedy that!

There's an easter egg option to turn the laughter off.
grandmother goes through these like twice a month and we keep having to buy new ones

I can't comment for both Community and Parks & Rec having not seen either, but, I find actually Frasier - which I enjoyed in first run - is far less funny than I remember. Seinfeld while well surpassed by Curb in recent times is still a very funny show.
Shame there's no 4:3 option, the 16:9 release is terrible, even at a fantastic price.
I really hadn't noticed the canned laughter or any 16:9 issues.

So it's going to be a nightmare when we watch the next episode...!

      Crackers? Pretzels.
      Haircut_10019/08/2019 20:43

Of course! Why was I thinking crackers?

Because they're nicer than pretzels! But also make you thirsty.

Me too! The fashions and hairstyles are now dated but the comedy is still top quality.

A 90s TV show on my brand new 4k apple tv?!

      WORLDS ARE COLLIDING!!
This deal is making me thirsty...
Thank You, Thank You and Thank You!!! bought this within 1 minute of seeing the deal. Absolutely loved it on amazon prime but hated the fact that I couldn't get to watch it on the go. Now I can watch as perfectly and in HD. A MASSIVE THANK YOU FOR THE FIND.
Good show, bit dated, especially the slap-bass between scenes.
How does this compare to f.r.i.e.n.d.s?

He's actually the worst one in it, he's not a comic actor at all IMO, but the other three are great.

Similar but they're not as nice.

"No hugging, no learning" was their motto.

Also similar to Frasier with all the dates they go on.

And Sex and the City I suppose, lots of dating disasters.

Very funny show, but having reached season 9, a lot of the storylines can be very forced/unbelievable, which detracts somewhat from it. Season 7 finale in particular was just awful.
Truly one the best and most important comedy series ever. Far superior to Friends if you don't like sentimental soppy guff at the end of every episode.

Shame about the canned laughter but you have to look past it.
One of the best TV shows to ever grace the screen, comedy gold and so watchable over and over again.
The great thing is it’s been remastered so it’s in HD and widescreen so it looks way better than when broadcast in the nineties on our tiny square boxes
