What is a Hybrid smartwatch?

A hybrid smartwatch is a like a fusion between a regular mechanical watch and a smartwatch. It looks just like a normal watch, but has some great added smart watch features like fitness trackers / calendar etc.

6' 2" and 13 and half stone is around about average,
But cheers for the input 👌
TBF it isn't worded very clearly.

"...the watch sends discreet, filtered-by-you smartphone notifications when you receive a text, email or call."

Means the watch itself notifies you when your phone has received a message/call/email. Apart from vibrating on your wrist it isn't clear how this watch does it. Anyone else help?

Are they any better than lenovo watch, I was bitterly disappointed with mine
Had a Lenovo. Now have Skagen. The Skagen is in a completely different class! The app works properly, and so does the watch.

Mrs has t bar and I had Lenovo. As stated this is a different class and the notifications etc actually work
I wouldn't buy another Skagen,
The face of mine smashed whilst i was asleep :/
it was a very thin design admittedly, but it says a lot about build quality if rolling over while having a kip can knacker your watch.

This new device gives you smartphone notifications via post!

Seriously though, I expect the watch vibrates or releases a small insect that crawls around your arm to let you know. When the description says "the watch sends discreet, filtered-by-you smartphone notifications when you receive a text, email or call." It means to say you can choose which notifications come through to the watch and which ones remain readable only via your phone and personal phone reading lady.

Yeah. I've given up. Good thing too. Gave me time to read up reviews on the blue watch.

Very light and looks nice. However, it is NOT the same blue as the pictures. Advertising pictures make it look like a super vibrant blue, but in reality it's closer to grey or a very dull and dark blue. It still looks nice, but that is quite a mark down, as the colour was the main reason why I chose this watch. Had i known how dull it really is, i would have chosen something else.

Also when I received it, I noticed a small mark or imperfection of some kind under the glass. This is visible in the third photo underneath the 12 point.

Something I've noticed after wearing it a bit is that the hour markers are luminous, but the hands are not. What this means is that you can see the watch face in darkness, but not the time. Which to me seems like a rather odd design choice that goes against the entire purpose of luminescence. I guess it's useful for if you're looking for the watch in a dark room maybe? I've added a picture to show the lume.

The alarm feature is fantastic though, the best alarm I've ever had. While its not as effective as a regular alarm at making sure you wake up, it is far less jarring and more comfortable to wake up to.

The watch looks good with basic smart features however it runs on a replacable CR battery (the little round flat ones) and is not rechargable. No good for me but head added as great price for the item.

Hah, informative and funny - thanks very much.

I see what you mean about filtering notifications but I still wonder how useful this is. If the watch itself vibrates then that's useful as you know straight away it's one of your specially selected notifications. However if only the phone vibrates then you'd still need to check your phone to find out, unless the Skagen app has a distinguishable vibration pattern (or you can set a custom one)

I thought one of the main benefits of smartwatches was being able to glance at your wrist and see what had come through without having to take out your phone?

I've just seen in the reviews that the watch itself vibrates, so I guess that answers my question
I've now put an order through successfully so hopefully it will work for others too.

Remember to sign up to newsletter for an extra 15% off. I ordered 2 watches for £100.

Returns are simple enough but you need to cover postage if it's not faulty. Good luck.
Anybody know how these watches react to time zone changes?

I presume, as they are linked to your phone, they time updates when the time changes on the linked phone - does this happen automatically?
I ordered one too, I used to have a moto watch, but the battery life died to the point it was only lasting less than 4 hours, changing the lipo was seemingly incredibly hard and moderately expensive. I found the main use for it was to know if I had a call/message/notification. I invariably had to get the phone out to reply properly or see the content properly anyway.
I think this is going to be better solution, the battery lasts for months, is easy to replace, let’s me know if important (in my case family) members have called or text whilst I’m at work.
It has activity tracking functions and looks really nice I ordered the black titanium and mother of Pearl face that I ordered does . I think it will be a good mix of what I need
Great price and heated.
I love my Skaggy but be warned . If the strap goes you'll end up paying close to what you've paid to get it replaced (£45 for strap and fitting for my last one )
Impossible to order on this pants website. Grrrr
Is this authentic?

Seems too cheap to be real.

Kindest regards

There's a small dial with 4 or 5 positions. You can use the app to programme what each position on the dial means e.g. you've received a text, you've reached your steps goal, you've received an email etc..

You need your phone nearby for this to work.

Personally, I have about 7 or 8 non smart Skagen watches, love their designs and price point. This hybrid smart thing to me is useless. I won't remember what each point on the dial is programmed to and I can check my phone for notifications.

Ah ok - that's good to know, I guess I'd probably still find that useful. Thanks! I have a couple of standard Skagen watches too and also love their design & price point, so I'm still tempted to take a punt on this...

Why you wearing a watch in bed anyway!

Perhaps remove watch whilst sleeping next time, unless you plan on checking the time in your dreams is important to you

Thanks for the heads up. Will do
I've got a Skagen hybrid and it's probably my favourite watch because of how it looks. it's very basic for notifications mind. it vibrates and the hands move to whatever number on the face you set to identify the type of notification. i.e on mine Snapchat goes to 12, WhatsApp 3, Facebook messenger 6 etc...
very tempted with one of these... does it count steps?

my garmin has totally stopped syncing and getting notifications from my huawei without reset every day...

In a word....Yes
Made an account just to say you hero, wanted one of their watches for ages
Finally got the order through.
Second Skagen, and currently using my first as my go to watch.
Has its limitations, yes, but then peeps should go into purchases like this with eyes wide open.
Number of people on the Skagen site that don't, and then b*tch at Skagen for say not having GPS is ridiculous.
This is a phone with 6 months battery life. No daily recharging malarkey. Some people can't see that there is only do much you can support with that in mind.
Anyway I love the current watch and am expecting to love the new one.
