I guess if you were ordering a number of them then the delivery charge wouldn't be so much of an issue, but on HUKD a delivery fee that is higher than the product price is like a red rag to a bull!! :D Heat added though because it's a pretty good price.
Cheaper alternative as most places cost more including p&p?
4.99 for delivery? COLD
Sorry Besford, it's Garden Selections but I can't figure out how to alter the title.
I've found they're squirrel proof if you hook the lid extra shut using a paper clip, otherwise a really determined squirrel can get the lids open.
I love squirrel as well a few vegetables and some stock mmmm
I think squirrel resistant would be more accurate, squirrels will find their way in eventually, by brute force if necessary.
OP: vendor in title would be a good idea!
Either that or somebody bought the lot to sell on!!
Wonder if it was an error, seemed really cheap!
Soooooo wanted one, nice find Op :)

I might regret asking this, but... ...who?
If you don't watch **** daytime TV you don't have to put up with people like this, and you will be blissfully ignorant of the existence of the rabid sub-humans that populate the pre-6pm slots. Then you won't need to post pointless "comedy" deals and can hopefully contribute to making this site useful again. Oh, and while I'm here: Shoes for Dogs! Only £5.55
Some ancient recordings there, but good renditions.
Not continuous though, is it. They have plenty of documentaries and news bulletins and some concerts which repeat pieces played elsewhere. No doubt the most popular works will be played more than once too. Your point is well made but I'd suggest that this "ultimate" set is for the connoisseur rather than an introduction to great piano music. And since when did Scarlatti write for the piano?
12 day Mozart festival, Musicals! It will take 12 days of continuous play to listen to all of mozarts compositions. But a very good recommendation. I am listening to it as I write. Yes, some are fairly old, the Alfred Brendel recordings are his first attempts: critical reviews say that his recordings have changed little over time. The Clara Wurtz recordings are worth anyones money at this price. Even inadequate recordings of Richter are worth having!
Beware though, some are ancient recordings from the former Soviet Union which sound pretty terrible, despite the quality of the playing. By the way Radio 3's 10 day Mozart fest starts today.
Selections gave a special deal of 15% off most of its stock up to the end of December. This piano collection was just one of the bargains. Still worth buying, however, even at the full price!
Bought one then yeah? Course :)
Plus DG/Karajan combo resulted in just about the worst performances and recordings of classical works, ever. Karajan was a fanatic for accuracy and would edit recordings to maintain a "perfect" performance thus rendering them sterile and devoid of any orchestral life. The BBC Concert Orchestra will have produced far better quality recordings of these works than DG/Karajan ever did. I gave up buying DG records after about the eighth purchase. Every performance/recording ruined by countless editing artefacts. Choose any conductor but Karajan. He was a brilliant conductor live, but his recorded works leave much to be desired.
Plus delivery of £2.95 total of £8.04
Ah so we're supposed to check your previous posts to understand the context, sorry don't have time. Your post was out of context in this thread and therefore the poster's comment was relevant.
Your point is? Elsewhere I was berated for not pointing out this fact. Doh.
http://www.radiolicence.org.uk/licencetoday.html So quite obviously you don't need a TV licence to listen to UK radio and haven't for 39 years. So your comment was a little out of date lol.
Most of them ancient recordings. Radio 3 playing the complete Mozart 24/7 from Jan 1st 2011 - and all for free (you don't even need a tv licence)
Rock Me Amadeus !!!! Heat Added
"widely regarded as one of the major composers of the 20th century", wiki Not on HUKD he isnt :p Hot from me X)
Never known anyone charge £2.95 for delivering a CD.......Cold
Hot from me :)
Doh! I was making a point - I'm aware of all these pianists and their background
Yes, that information is available and thank you for posting it. It does identify some specific works: Bach's BWV numbers, for example, but many of the works are unidentifiable. For example: prelude by Bach. Which prelude? Bach must have written many hundreds of preludes, fugues, etc. Beethoven: Adagio cantible. Which one? Beethoven wrote many. Schubert Adagio - ditto. Brahms Allegro. Again, which one. I could go on. Many of these works are not identifiable from the information given, although some are.
did wonder if I could put that in as an edit to the OP ;)

Not so: none are from the wax era. Some are mono and will have been recorded in the 1940's or perhaps at the earliest in the 1930's. Most will be post world war 2 and some are very modern: Schiff, Garilov, Argerich, Barenboim, Thibaudet, Kissin. I own recordings made by Gulda, Kempff, Gilels, Arau, Rubenstein, Katchen, that are mostly in very reasonable if not even good sound and I expect the same to be true of these recordings. I have ordered this set but so far, have not received it so I can't comment further.
I've tried battery powered garden tools it the past and have found them useless. No load run times are great but as soon as they had to do some work they went flat in no time. I doubt very much this will cut much grass before running flat.
I've always found them to be quick, with good customer service, too. So far as this mower's concerned, I doubt there's another one anywhere at this price.
Word of warning, selections postage is rubbish. I'm still waiting for order that shipped a month ago!
Cutting Capacity 600 square meters Even if it were half this it will be plenty for most people that would use this.
These battery powered ones are usually rubbish, with a low endurance time....
It unbelievable the price this sells at, i work for a company that imports and sells this type of fabric and we buy it for around 3.5p/m and sell for 5.5p/m for 160cm wide
I'm sticking to good old fashioned straw for the strawberrys, everything else gets composted and start from seed for everything else come spring (toms, beans etc.)
As a grower of over 40 years, there is fleece, and there is fleece. Some is better able to protect against cold and freezing weather than others, so check to see as much detail if you're buying remotely., especially if you need protection during really severe weather for more tender plants. That said, if it's minimal protection that you need, rather than for, say, succulents that could turn to mush in frost, then most would be fine. Also, if you need just a small amount, many nurseries, and some places such as BnQ etc. sell it by the metre. This is a good deal, without having any further info.
Have seen a cheap garden arch. went to buy yesterday ut did not get a secure padlock at the bottom of the page, does this mean its unsafe. Anyone any ideas of discounts?
I've used them a couple of time and all good. Seen this fleece in garden centers for over £10 a roll. With the frosts coming the GARDENERS BEWARE weather message is getting stronger. This can be used to keep the last of the salad crop, winter salad crops and tender stuff like potatoes etc protected.
