Just 13 miles from the centre of London, Selsdon Park is surprisingly hidden away from the outside world in the heart of the Surrey Downs. A spectacular mansion house built in 1875, the hotel is decorated in a manner that preserves its character from the 19th century. Fine dining is offered in the Cedar Restaurant, with award winning cosmopolitan cuisine served daily. The Phoenix Bar and Grill is available for those who prefer a more informal place to eat. To make sure you're never bored, a wide selection of leisure facilities are at your disposal: indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, tennis and squash courts, the all important croquet lawn and a health and beauty salon.

Golf Courses
Located just south of London, Selsdon Park is a delightful country golfing getaway within an easy jaunt of the sprawling metropolis.

Thanks for this

Not a bad place to stay this, for £49 dinner B&B and golf, its a bargain! Heat added

Hot! Bargain! I once stayed there with work. the course looked great, and the rooms and food were lovely too.

This is really cheap:thumbsup:

is golf equipment hire and balls included?

is golf equipment hire and balls included?

No but it does say;

'Non golfer prices, extra golf and additional nights are available. Please ask for details.'

We stayed there in 2005, it was lovely, but by all accounts it changed hands in 2006 and has rapidly gone down hill since.

I pass this place on the way home from work each night, its about 5 mins from my house. Its tucked away very well. Used by football teams, international rugby teams too.

I live all of five mins walk from this and like Franko77 walk past it twice a day! Even once worked in the kitchens when i was a teen!

Nice place. Interesting to hear that it might be going downhill but can't say I was even aware of it changing hands let alone suffering as a result.

Don't bother! I played the course on Saturday and it was in very poor condition. The rough was about 3 feet deep and all bunkers were very scruffy, with the rough around them growing unchecked. Even worse was the grass on the greens was brown, not green!

Yourgolftravel.com has this deal as well, but also offer a better deal to Farthingstone near Northampton for only £36!

Very cheap for what your getting, but the venue and course have not been well looked after in past couple of years. Hence the stupid priced deals.

Recently stayed at Foxhills, which was a fantastic venue with 2 great golf courses (cost £135 for the same package) BUT the staff in the hotel and Pro Shop were awful.

Complained to the hotel, who offered another free weekend, and informed Yourgolftravel.com who we booked with. They gave us a £50 voucher.

Better value (look around for cheaper prices) is Ufford Park - a great 'golfers' venue:-

Ufford park is a nice venue but i am not to keen on the course it'self. Theres nothing wrong with it to be honest but personaly i feel it needs about 20 years to mature.

As for this deal - i have just booked a one night stay for myself & 3 workmates in august. (2 rounds of golf, dinner, breakfast & 2 twin rooms for 4 people £186.20p YES they even knocked off a further 5% as group booking

Some of you have said the course is not as good as it used to be - (''but come on'') a 2 course meal in a pub is Tenner, Breakfast in a roadside cafe is a Fiver & a room at a travel lodge is about thirty odd quid!

I think that puts it into pespective & i have voted it hot

P.S - hello by the way (first post)

Nice deal

Just got back from my 1 night stay

4 of us from work @ 49.99p each

What can i say - 2 rounds of golf on a superb course + a fantastic dinner & lush breakfast all topped off with a high spec bedroom

Talking to others that were there - 2 rounds of golf cost £50, dinner £20, breakfast £10 making a total of £80 & we got it for £49.99p + overnight Stay.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago on the £49 deal - golf course was in great condition, the rough was a nightmare though as it had been left for a recent EuroPro Event.

Staff were very good, but room was absolutely awful. Hot, smelly, stained carpet (either blood or red wine), mould in the bathroom and a shower that had one temperature - scolding !!!

Breakfast was very good, although bit of a free for all. Dinner was bland and unattractive, although it did taste very good. For £49.99 you couldn't complain but this hotel COULD be so much more. Unfortunatley it doesn't know what it wants to be.

The golf course is under utilized and not very welcoming, in fact the pro shop was quiet difficult to find. The bar is AWFUL......like a school hall without windows. Why on earth they dont use one of the beautiful back rooms and use the patio area and lovely views is beyond me.

In summary - great price, good golf.........but very poor facilities and the worst bar I have ever been in for atmosphere.
