Send parcels up to 2KG with my hermes for £3.90

Just read the thread about Royal Mail postage increase for small parcels, but couldn't see anywhere on here the service offered by My Hermes. Perhaps it won't qualify as a deal, as it's just constantly low prices, but still a good deal compared to other companies.
If you take your parcel down to their drop off point (just like you would when posting at the post office) it's only £3.90 for up to 2kg. Se the picture or click through for other prices.
I've always found them really good when I've used them in the past, and for a little extra they'll come and collect the parcel from you instead.
Oh and, if you've never used them before - use the 25% off code for your first delivery!

You should probably state those prices are without vat

Funny you should mention My Hermes. Got home from work yesterday to find a My Hermes card on the floor. Written on it was 'parcel left by brown bin'. Went back outside and there it was, visible for all to see. They arent as bad a Yodel but my experience with them has always been terrible.

Would you believe - I hadn't even realised!!! I can't believe I sent a parcel with them yesterday and thought I paid £3.25 for it when it was actually £3.90! Thanks - have amended.

The only issue here is you have to pay an extra 80p plus vat for a signature, and it's only insured up to £20. Once you put the correct insurance in, it becomes far less competitive.

Still a good alternative. I use them on occasion.

Used them a couple of days ago....expecting the package to be delivered today. Hoping it gets delivered!

Thanks for the heads up

Same, I had a terrible experience with an H&M order delivered by Hermes. Here's the complaint email I sent H&M:

"Hi, I want to make a complaint about a recent order. I ordered a jumper (83-1239) and 2 pairs of socks (84-2676). They were delivered 2 weeks later, which seems like a rather long time to wait for a domestic delivery. However, the reason for which I want to make a complaint is the method of delivering my order. Delivery was attempted by Hermes on Saturday afternoon while I was out. Instead of re-attempting delivery at a later date, I received a note through the door which just said "behind back fence". Nothing else - no date, time, deliverer name, contact number or any other details. First of all, I don't have a fence at all, let alone a back fence! How am I supposed to know what this means and where my package is? The Hermes courier had decided to leave the package behind my neighbour's fence (whom I don't know), presumably throwing it over the top, outside in the rain! The clothes were not in a sealed package, only in some plastic with holes in it. The clothes were therefore wet when I opened them. I was lucky to get them at all, since my neighbours were kind enough to take them inside. I can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to deliver a package in this fashion (if you can call it delivering). I never left delivery instructions, especially not to leave it in a mysterious neighbour's back garden! I want to know why Hermes and/or H&M think it is acceptable to fulfil customers' orders in this manner? I am completely dissatisfied (to put it mildly) and I won't be shopping with you again. I hope you can put in some measures to ensure that other customers do not have a similar experience to me."

In my view, Hermes have overtaken Yodel as most incompetent courier.

I'm still waiting for a parcel delivery from these jokers! It was ordered Tuesday last week and have just been on live chat with their customer support and I've just been told its still in the depot!! It was on a 3-5 day delivery so they are really taking the **** now!! Fuming with them so voting cold

Definately wouldn't use them or Yodel.

I often use Parcels2go for a quote on larger parcels but still find myself using the post office due to the poor unreliable service the others offer. In 8 years of posting items for Ebay using Royal mail only about 2 of 2500 went missing & I was refunded.

I've used them for Ebaying in the past and they got gradually worse. If an address takes any amount of ingenuity to find, ie a flat or house name, it won't be delivered or carded and will simply vanish into the abyss. Another thing I found out from using them, is that some of the drivers consider an external window sill as a 'secure location' when delivering.
On the plus side they are cheap, just expect to lose 10% of items posted.

I use ParcelMonkey - had no problems with them at all

never had aproblem with my hermes use them for work and personell no worse than royal mail

I have had so many problems with Hermes in the past that I now wont order from a company if I know in advance it is the courier they will use. Some of the issues:

Item left on doorstep in plain view and a calling card put through my letter box even though I was at home - they didn't even bother knocking.
Item thrown over gate smashing contents inside
Item thrown over gate in a cardboard box even though pouring with rain
Item left with neighbor but different neighbors address left on the calling card

Avoid at all costs in my opinion

Parcel monkey ftw!

Parcelmonkey are not couriers themselves, as quoted on their website:

"When you book a collection on our website, you can choose for your parcel to be collected and delivered by one of our premium carrier partners - City Link, DHL, Parcelforce, Royal Mail or Nightfreight."

At least they don't use Hermes or Yodel on their books.

Also bear in mind that there's very little or no insurance for certain items, and cvertain types of loss damage.
We send 100's of parcels with them. They're not as bad as YODEL, but that ain't saying much.

I've used collect + many times all ok free insurance up to 50 quid free on line tracking . Signature service and 3.99 for 2kg royal mail new charges a joke 8cm depth for small packet most that was costing 2.20 now 5.20 . Can post double the weight and still b cheaper . Had issues with royal mail leaving parcels by door . So how people worship royal mail god only knows .

I've had awaited à parcel, checked the online service tracker said address query... They delivered not 2weeks before. Funny it arrived after i sent an email about it. BTW read what they do to your parcel if it fails delivery 3 times. Joke of à company imo.

Let's all jump up the air and praise the lord for royal mail 5.20 for a item that may weigh only 250 g but more than 8 cm in depth . Such great value NOT

i ordered a 40 piece socket set this week off amazon after seeing it on this site,it cost £2.29 delivered,i sold a football shirt on ebay and it cost me £2.50 to send 2nd class non recorded, surely the postage for a socket set has to be more than £2.29 before the value of the socket set.

Terrible service, use at your own risk, or if you don't care that your deliverables will likely be damaged by idiots.

Not 100% sure this was Hermes, but a friend had an issue with them trying to deliver on Tuesday while they were in work... he called and asked to arrange a date for the second attempt (when he knew he'd be available) but they refused and attempted Wednesday and Thursday when he was also in work... 3 failed attempts = no parcel delivery

Good price, what with the new Royal Mail price increases. I might give them a try. Hot!

Another ParcelMonkey fan here. Greece, Italy, Holland and Kazakhstan deliveries recently, all with no problems.

Everyone can have different experience but I think if your item is not worth more than £20-£25 why wouldn't you use them.

Personally I cannot justify paying over £5 for something worth £20.

Sometimes Parcelo 2 go is cheaper for international delivery.

Hermes is for UK only hence beats parcel monkey for price (if you are fine with low insurance)

I have used myhermes for years and I have NEVER had any problems not one complaint! My courier (lady) is brilliant my parcels always arrive and I have not lost one yet!

I agree

worst couriour ever! google there reviews!

From personal experience, times and deliveries arent too bad but If you send without insurance then you're asking to be robbed (I learnt the hard way!) and their customer services is absolutely awful, worst customer service i have ever had!

For those in doubt here is a clip of a parcel being delivered by them:

I think mh are the best for heavy low value goods. Plus insurance doesn't make that much of a difference and why do you need a signature with courier delivery??

And everyone saying there couriers are idiots or don't take care. They use self employed couriers so the same as lots. My mh courier is the same guy as parcel monkey and dhl.

ParcelMonkey was using mainly CityLink (not sure what they are using for their own branded service) so stop confusing Hermes (courier service) with ParcelMonkey or Parcel2Go (courier service FINDER)

With this company, it's a case of paying peanuts for monkeys.

Hermes will leave your parcel wherever they feel like. If you are not home expect to find it in plain virew and uncovered even in the rain...they dont care
