I call fake...

Sold by HeadphoneWorld. And some reviews are dubious about the build quality.

It is Amazon who are selling them direct, not a third party.

Wrong! It is HeadphoneWorld selling them amazon are just fullfilling the order!

It really is not worth buying these headphones - the wire cropped out of the plastic all the time! A waste of money and clogging up the environment!

That's why I deleted my post.

If you buy from Amazon Marketplace you're very likely to be getting fakes.

I've got a set which I bought for £8 about 3 years ago. Since then I've left them out in the rain overnight, driven a car over them while they were submerged in the mud, yanked the hell out of the cables when catching them on stuff, yet they still work like new.

They're excellent sound quality too. It is possible to get the genuine ones cheap, got my Mrs a pink set recently for £8.50 so don't automatically assume they're fakes. (Though they may be.....)

Not worth the risk in this case imho, best to pay twice the price from a genuine retailer and get the guarantee.

The genuine article are excellent - I've got two pairs of CX400-IIs and for the price they're outstanding!

Although I must say the fakes are still better than the tat Apple provide with iDevices
