I saw these for £7.99 and thought they were a right good deal.

This has actually been posted before at a higher price but seeing as that post is over 4 weeks old I thought no one would see it so am posting again.

The previous post is here hotukdeals.com/tag/dea…576

Edit Now Price matched at amazon, thanks to yok_pe

Don't buy it. Bound to be fake or wire gets broken in no time! I have been there!

How can you justify that statement?

Thought Play were an approved reseller? Very unlikely that they'd be fake direct from Play.

Got a pair of these a couple of weeks ago when Amazon were pricematching Play @ £8.99. Difficult to imagine you will find anything better for under a tenner. Going from the CX300s which I had for nearly 4 years before they finally broke I would say there isn't that much in it in terms of overall sound quality.

As for the remark about them braking easily, these are no more vulnerable than any other I've bought of this type, it's inherant in the design I'm afraid. You just have to take a bit more care.

Agreed, seems to be sold by Play.com so shouldn't be fake.

Also Sennheiser are a reasonable brand, I picked up some similar earphones for my girlfriend (I'm not sure on the exact model number) and they have been fine, huge improvement in comfort over the stock Apple earphones.

I bought them for my girlfriend as her previous cx200 (normal version) finally broke after about 18months (mainly because she doesn't take that good care of them). Anyway the quality on them was excellent so I would hope these will be the same (will post back her thoughts).

My CX300's have JUST broken- the usual deal, one of the ears just suddenly stop working for no reason, whilst the other works fine They only ever last a few months before i need a new one, this will have been the 5th or 6th time. But I guess there's nothing I can do, earphones are fragile. More expensive pairs will probably suffer the same fate.

How do these compare to the CX300's? Does anyone know? Thanks

Well one of the reviewers on play says that he had some cx300 and bought the cx200 for his daughter and said they sounded pretty much the same, then again the rrp of these are £25 so there must be a differencre as I think the rrp of the 300 is about £40? Then again money definately isn't everything as I got some free Sennheiser in ear headphones (old style not plugs like these) from richer sounds about 2 years ago and I still use them every day

I was genuinenly surprised how close they were to the CX300s, especially the bass which seems equally as good. I'm certainly no audiophile and I'm sure those in the know will put me right on some technical points but to these untrained ears they are very good indeed and a no-brainer at this price.

Thanks for the advice badasschris and marktime! Now just need to decide between these CX200's and the Creative EP-60's here:

Anyone know which of these are better?

If you don't mind white I would go with these as they are the better know headphone maker, but that's just my guess based on previous sennheiser headphones (my px100 are amazing - over the ear type)

Thank you! I just ordered these, need them urgently as I hate not having earphones! Just wish I didn't have to wait the 2 or 3 days for delivery, the page stated that express delivery was available but there wasn't at option for it at checkout

Shadders, before you chuck your old CX300's, check that it isn't just earwax. I fixed mine more than once with an old toothbrush against the mesh.

Finally killed my CX300's yesterday, must have yanked the cable at the jack, checking my old orders, I got them in June 2007 from Amazon for £17.80, so I can't moan really.

You're welcome, I hope they live up to the reviews.

All those with faulty sennheisers, their CS are awesome when it comes to replacements...

Just nabbed a pair. Thanks.

I have a pair of these for my iPhone (don't like apple earphones)and they are great, lasted years
So if these are genuine then
Sweet have some heat

Thanks, just ordered, very descent headphones to have as back-up spares, especially at this price

JoeBoy88

How can you justify that statement?

I used to trust play but after the apple remote headphone issues (showing boxed headphones then arriving with a plastic tie in plastic bag couldn't of looked more dodgy if they tried) and the fact they only allow positive feedback.

are they genuine?

Sennheiser make the best value headphones/earphones for the price IMO. One of the top 3 headphone brands in the world easily.

do you happen to have a link? I just checked their website and couldn't find anything about returning faulty products

Thanks. Just ordered some. I find in-ear headphones like these really useful for use in aircraft on long haul flights. They block out quite a bit of the background noise (Without having to spend a fortune on active noise cancellers) and you can rest against the pillow/window etc without leaving an indelible imprint of the on-board headphones on your ear. Note that some airlines require dual pin adapters if you want to plug your own phones into the aircraft sound system. e.g. amazon.co.uk/Air…WI2

The irony of being called 'mrplay' then complaining about play..

I bought some black ones via a Play reseller (Pinkelephant) a few months back for £14.99 to replace my original broken ones. They arrived, looked pretty convincing, but sounded awful. They were fake. I contested it, got my money back and got to keep the fake ones, which I haven't got around to binning yet.

Really easy to tell if they are fake, the little metal band near the earpiece gave me electric shocks every time the ear cup receded a bit! From a marketplace seller on Amazon that strangely disappeared soon after.

Decent earpiece for the price. Thanks!

all headphones are subjective to the user and what kind of music they listen to. Also you need to let the headphone 'burn in' for a many hours before they reach there potential.

I had CX300-IIs once. They were decent (great for bass-heads), but there … I had CX300-IIs once. They were decent (great for bass-heads), but there are certainly better in this price range.

Ditto the above.

Not trying to take away the attention from this deal, but there's much more to be had at this price.

this is long-refuted nonsense. a myth.

Awesome deal - thanks for posting bud

I had a pair of CX300 IIs and then after they were on their last legs I bought this pair because of the deal posted a few weeks ago.
I can honestly say, the CX200 IIs are a lot better than my previous pair and I would definitely recommend them at this price.

Thanks.Just ordered.Hot.

Ashamed? Us? *cough*

I must admit, I've had a few GENUINE pairs (full RRP from reputable sellers) of these headphones and the cable on them does break quite easily! Great quality sound though, good bass!

Ordered mine this morning as sick of standard Apple ones flopping out of my big ears at the gym... although become quite adept at one-handed rowing as a result...

Phones really do need burning in

Are these the best headphones for under £10?
