Good price for quality headphones

I concur

They look a bit too basic. I'm breaking headphones all the time but would still play at least £30 for a decent pair.

I've got a set of HD 215 on my desk now that were stood on.

Best I've used were the HD 485, going to try the 555's next.

Plastic or not, Sennheisers are well made and last. Spares are available (at a price) and they are very easy to repair yourself - very well engineered. I have a pair of old HD495's on my desk and they sound fantastic - even for MP3's via a PC soundcard.

OOS now

It does state that it's only temporarily out of stock, and the price still seems to stand, so maybe there's a good chance they would honour it? I'm tempted to try

Edit - Just found it for £11.99 at Amazon, still in stock!

Temporarily out of stock. This item will be dispatched as soon as it arrives.

Unexpired.

I want the wireless ones that were a deal before xmas

I got a pair last time they were on offer - really excellent!

Gonna seem like an odd question but here goes.........

Would these be better/worse than my [B]Sennheiser HD 202[/B headphones?

Lol

Banned

I got the £17.99 wireless ones, they are very cheap feeling, but not bad.

Sorry to sort of highjack the post a little...but is there a good place to get an offical/quality extension cable for these...have one of the 400 series and find the 3m cable too short

Cheers

I got mine from ebay, and the cable has not disintegrated (yet).

Agreed,, I have had a pair of Sennheiser HD414 SL for well over 20 years and they are working just as well now as they were when I bought them and still in good condition despite being used many times a week.

Out of stock

these were also £12.99 at hmv a couple of weeks back so may be worth looking there too.

I got some of these last time they were on offer, I think they are really good for the price.

I got them from Amazon for £10 the last time this was posted. They replaced another pair of sennheisers.
Very comfortable + light for long sessions, they need to be plugged into an amplifier to get the best bass out of them, direct from the computer they are a bit light on bass but overall you really can't grumble for this price.

I bought these last month from play @ £18 (grrrr).

These are great headphones for the money, well constructed and comfortable. And as they are closed back there isn't a great deal of sound leakage so i can sit in the living room playing the PS3 (loudly) and the gf can read a book happily.

Only (small) nagging point for me is that they didn't come with an adapter to 6.3mm plug.

As for an extension lead, i got ]this from AudioVisual for £3.99.

Voted hot!

How big are these? Looking for a new pair of phones for my Itouch to replace my rubbish Sony MDR-EX85 In Ears - any good for that at all? Seen a nice pair by Bose in the apple shop on display, very good noise cancel, playback and size but a wallet busting £100.

Failing, can anyone recommend a decent pair for a similar price, preferably not in-ear as I either can't fit them properly or they don't stay in my ears.

if you can get yourself a pair of Sennheiser PX200's cheap enough mate, I'd recommend those. They fold up so you can put them in your inside pocket, therefore small enough to take out with you for your iPod, but they're over-ear ones so are proper headphones. Very little sound leakage and great sound quality without paying out hundreds. I've got a white pair but I think they come in black as well.

I can't justify the £30-£40 price tag on those given how many negative reviews I've read. I really could do with a decent pair of over head phones though with decent noise cancelling

If you do not want to wait for the stock from Play.com (though you can still still place an order), you can get it from Amazon.co.uk for that price. If you will check the deal they are 2 merchants with the same price, so definitely not out of stock. At least not yet.

That was a really good deal. The deal is here.

And it was posted evem once more for £ 14 here as well.

well if we're boasting about headphones...
i have sennheiser RS130, the best wireless headphones in the price range!
RRP was over £100 but i got for about £65
(im sure people have better headphones, but was just making a point that sennheiser headphones are great!)

might buy these as a backup (or for the ipod)...

Sod. Amazon out of stock since yesterday. Another deal missed.

I was lucky enough to get some of those (the HDR 110's), and very good they are to. This is a good deal too. Heated.

I bought some of these a while back, they are alright; get what you pay for really.

Just dont let your mates pull on the wire, my mate did on accident and lost a side. not that strong wires.

Good price but these are terrible headphones, not very loud at all.

Would people not recommend these for travel? I'd be primarily using them on my iPod and the reviews I've read and the price make it a very tempting purchase, but I've read a few comments saying they wouldn't be great on portable players. Views appreciated...

These 2 posts are basically about the same thing - the cans are really excellent but they were never designed to be driven by small, portable devices but try them with a good quality amp and they really deliver!

I can only Echoe what Red just said, mines arrived yesterday, through my laptop or my new Rotel RA-04 amplifier, they're great, but I wouldn't want to play them on any portable device, as the cans aren't loud
