Now down to £14.99 in the Christmas stock clearance, three left in my local.

Well received by the looks of things: whathifi.com/rev…218

Note they are still £19.99 on the website - definitely £14.99 in store though.

hot!
mmmmm I have been looking for headphones on and off for a while and don't know what to go for.

I don't really know how much you need to cough up to get a good pair. I get conflicting opinions from friends and read conflicting reviews online.

Where can I go to actually try a reasonable range out - at the end of the day if it's a matter of personal preference then trying them yourself makes sense. I can't believe how cheap and how expensive they can be!!!!!

Any help appreciated.

I thought maybe choose an amount to spend and then look at kit around that price. But there could be ones a lot cheaper that are better!!!

I found a dedicated headphone price comparison site headphonepricecheck.co.uk - which would be useful if I knew what to compare.
Although these are Sennheiser, there's a reason why they're so cheap. If you want good headphones for under £20, I suggest the Marley Soul Rebel headphones for £19.99 at HMV, the sound output and build quality is simply amazing for the price.

HMV most of the time has a decent range of headphones. I'd say look at the sony and sennheiser ones. Have some sennheisers myself and always find myself coming back to them when I buy new headphones
If you like bass (good lows and balance), HMV have the Sony MDR-XB400 for £19.99
I brought a pair last week from my local Sainsburys in watford and they were £9.99 down from £29.99
Just got a pair from the Darwen store, still had 6 pairs left in the clearance section! Great headphones for £14.99.
I got a pair of these the last time they were listed, from Tesco Direct. While the sound is excellent, I'm already finding that the connection in the jack is starting to get temperamental, unless handled very very carefully. The slightest movement has the sound phasing out. I wouldn't mind so much but since buying them I have treated them with kid gloves, I even kept the plastic packaging that they come in to store them when not in use, but clearly to no avail.

They are good headphones, but on balance I would likely suggest trying others before getting these.

I used these all last night with a range of inputs and musical genres, and I'm very pleased with the purchase (although a little worried about Goatbhoy's comments about the cable).

They sound very good with decent treble and bass (although they aren't very bass heavy for those looking for that in particular) and I was able to discern separate instruments in music that I played (i.e. they didn't sound muddy), no distortion. Good results testing them with this site. I've also started the process of breaking them in with this, although I'm sure opinion is divided as to how useful it is, just make sure not to drive the volume to high if you try it.

I've got a fairly large head but found no comfort issues as reported by others. Very pleased with the purchase even if I didn't get them at £9.99 as others reported - well worth £14.99.
It's funny all these people recommending HMV! They should be really successful with all this good feedback.
Good price..these are being sold a few places recently for 20........these are good sounding phones....hot......if you can find any at 15...none in the leic branch.......
Purchased today, still had about 3 sets left at North Finchley store.
