I have these, great headphones for the office as they're closed (no sound leakage) and very isolating so there's no need to buy lower quality "noise-cancelling" headphones around the same price.

Nice headphones and so much more realistic than the chubby bass Dr Dre cans costing considerably more.

I would take AKG, Senn or Denon over Beats any time of day.

A great brand my son swears by them.....in fact he swears quite a bit!

I wonder where he gets that from BloodyHel ? X)

Can you actually buy it from amazon.it though? If you actually try to complete the purchase you will probably be told to buy it from your own local Amazon, I know it works that way with Kindle's, so why would this be any different... anyone know for certain?

give it a go for yourself, you don't have to buy until you click confirm order so what's the harm in trying

May be some customs charges so would check first.

Im holding out for Sennheiser Momentums (OK £200 more expensive) but this is a nice price.

No customs charges as it's within the EU.

God bless Europe!

Italy is in the EU so there should be no additional costs?

Nice pair of headphones!

Why do beats get mentioned in every headphones post?

The new Apple?

£84.40 on thomann.de if you need them but cannot buy from the italian amazon site.

With a amazon.co.uk you can purchase from any/most EU Amazon sites. And it is also correct that there will be no custom/duty charges as it is in the EU.

No extra charges within EU, tried many times.

Great sounding cans

would have bought a pair but i cant find uk in drop down list to complete purchase.

Maybe a really silly question but could someone explain how these connect to a ps3? I was looking at the Sony pulse mainly for ease of connection. Thanks.

Apple at least make decent bits of kit for a huge price, beats are terrible and expensive!

It seems regno united is great britain !

Exactly!

Great set of cans, and at this price a bargain.
I'm tempted at this as a 2nd pair, they have a large foam cuff so no leakage, with no part of them putting pressure on the outer parts of your ear at all pressure, so no pain or ache when taking them off. Also, great sound cancelation, perfect for those long flights anywhere, cutting out that constant drone from the engines.

They don't on their own. You need to get the red/white of a component or composite cable and the relevant adapter to 3.5mm from ebay or somewhere else. Wouldn't be more than a couple of quid even if you had neither.

Any idea how these would compare to HD555's ?, mine are a bit old and on there last legs.

the cool

wtf

Can someone tell me what lengtg the cable is for these?

I'm thinking of getting a set of these to connect to my Pioneer SC-LX81. I'm wary of buying some and then not liking the sound. I know they can be sent back but I'd rather try to get it right first time round and avoid any hassle.

Does any one have a set of these and can honestly tell me what they sound like.

Are they upto the job, sound quality wise, for my amp?

What other headphones do they compare with from a sound quality point of view?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Dude you have GOOD 7.1 receiver, which means you care about sound.
So get AKG K701 or Q701, Beyerdynamics DT880, Sennheiser HD650. Pay once and ENJOY. buy used for ebay, no matter, matter quality.

At least suggest him some closed cans then, all headphones you suggested are open ended. Many of our wives/GFs would freak out if we game/listen to music using any of those:)

Those are good choices for someone after open-ended ones though.

.... ordered.. Lets see what happens! Been after a decent set of 'cans' for a while!

Of course! Had a mind blank yesterday and recently been stung with another purchase from HK, ignore my earlier comment.

A bit of topic, but does anyone know of any phone besides Galaxy III that has a digital out? My idea was to connect the phone to FiiO 17 and then to Senns. If I use the analogue out though, the decoding will be done by the phone and I want to avoid that.

Thanks for the suggestions artcheezzz. Much appreciated. However, Edgarstrong does have a point about open headphones. I would prefer a closed set which fit comfortably and completely over the ear, not on them. Perhaps I should have mentioned this when I first asked.

Original Poster

Mal, the way I see it, Sennheiser Momentum is the top at this moment when it comes to closed cans. I am getting them soon after a very long research.

BTW, not trying to teach or something, but I believe you miss the point. On-ear or not on-ear has nothing to do with openness.

Opens cans are called open because they have grills behind drivers letting air in-and-out, creating a wider soundstage but leaking the sound. Headphones can be over-ear design (as opposed to on-ear) and yet be open at the same time.

To summarize,

On-ear vs Over-ear : shape of cans

Open vs closed : the presence/lack of holes/grills in the headphone contruction.

Once again, not trying to teach or something, may be you know that already.
