very comfy with fab sound

they're not 4 times better than the HD598's but much better value than the HD800's

thought about upgrading my hd600 but am going to wait for hd 800 or he 560

anyone seen a deal for either of these?
Great headphones but unfortunately people will probably vote cold because of the Sennheiser outlet deals posted a few months ago.

I can't tell if you're trolling, or if you're just ignorant....
Good headphone wonder if any better than the 650.s? Anyone got them both to compare
Someone posted this up the other day.

I am hoping, and praying, that the 600's or 650's go just below £200, prefer one of those. This is still good though.

People voting cold would rather spend £700 on a phone.
great price for the product voted hot
check a audio-t store ... my local Swansea was doing these for £270

Just got the £75 598 today and very pleased having returned the 600 and 650 in the past. Can't afford £300 but good discount.
cheap, cant go wrong with a good pair of high end sens, still got my ie8s best in-ear ever!
Good price for this particular model, but HD598 is not much worse and was 79 euros recently on Amazon.de

I've owned HD600\HD650 and HD700's, for me the HD600's were the clear pick of the bunch and the only one I've kept. I find the 600's more natural sounding, plenty of detail, bass and treble both present and not overwhelming. The HD650 has heavier bass than the 600 but loses detail, for me the loss of detail was not worth the extra bass and the 600 are much better. The HD600 is the only headphone of the three that has been Sennheiser's flagship for a period, it shows in how balanced it is compared to the 650/700. The HD600 gives the most balanced and true sound with no obvious deficiencies. The HD700's have a treble spike - treble at a certain frequency is noticeably harsh that neither the HD600 or HD650 suffer from. The HD700 is a different sound, a little more detail than the HD600/650 but thinner sounding and not as fun. Best thing to do is order both the 600 and 700 from Amazon and use their return service on the pair you like least - they're both good, but when you're parting with this amount of cash for headphones you really need to compare as everyone's tastes are different, reviews only tell you so much.

Also important to use a headphone amp to get the best out of these - check the Little Dot amps for a decent entry level tube amp, a tube amp really gets the best out of these Sennheisers.

The sound with these levels of headphones also improves with better quality third party cables. I had cables made up for my hd650s and the detail improved dramatically once the cables had burnt in.

Agree with most of the stuff you say, but suggesting someone uses a tube amp with them when testing them isn't good advice considering how much colouring the tube will bring to the sound. Really better off just using their normal setup or the most transparent thing they have to test.

The stock cables are fine with the HD600/650/700, I encourage anyone who thinks otherwise to setup a double blind test and report the results.

Would also love to see a nice deal on HD600 or 650's. My HD595 are a little worse for wear after nearly 10 years!

Otherwise anyone know any good DAC/headphone amp deals? My Beresford died and have had no response from Stan :(.
The other thing that needs to be mentioned is that it will take a couple of days to run them in, so you will not get a true representation of how these cans open up until several hours of listening.

When your gaming rigs are in landfill, these headphones will still be going strong.

Nice summary.
Any other good headphone amp suggestions?

Nonsense.

Your brain is sending signals of it sounding better as a way of justifying the expense. I have A/B'd expensive aftermarket cables against stock cables with high end cans/speakers and from experience can honestly say it's all placebo.
I would also like someone to explain cable "burn in" considering that there are no moving parts in a cable to loosen up.
