5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound and comfy too 7 Jan 2012
By Tobi A
Use these daily both out-and-about and while at home, I love them. The sound quality is excellent, if you try to go back to Apple earphones after these you will notice immediately how vast the difference is. They are comfy, have a nice matte look and the cable length is perfect for a daily commute unlike other Senns which can have excessively long cables. The selling point for these is dynamic bass and the bass is certainly more noticeable than other similarly priced Sennheiser headphones (Senn HD428) while the other sounds remained just as sharp and pronounced. I am by no means an audiophile but I think Sennheiser are already well-known for being a brand with great sound quality rather than just a fashion accessory like Dr Dre Beats and if I was given a choice between using these or the most expensive Beats, I would pick these in a heartbeat (pun not intended).

5.0 out of 5 stars There Sennheisers, enough said! 21 Sep 2012
By James Green
I am a long term Sennheiser fan. I had previously owned HD205's, but they unforunately broke. So, I decided to purchase these beauties.

The Advantages:

Incredible Bass Response
Great Trebles
1.4 Metre Cable (Perfect Length)
Low Impedance (Great for use with portable devices)
Closed Ear Cup (Blocks ambient noise well)
Unbelievably Comfortable
Great 'stealthy' colour scheme
2 Year Warranty
Made by Sennheiser!

The Disadvantages:

'Old Fashioned' Ear Cup Padding(Cloth)
Thin Cable (Feels a little cheap)
Adjusting Joint becomes weak after time

I spent a lot of time picking out disadvantages with these headphones, the ones I did are really very insignificant. They definitely should not affect your decision of purchase.

Sennheiser are, in mine and many others opinions, the best headphone producer. The only problem is they are prone to break. That is where the 2 Year Warranty comes in very handy. So you can have a least 2 years of pure amazing audio listening. These headphones are the best in their price range. Not only that they have a better listening experience than Dr Dre Beats and they cost a third of the price.

I would recommend these Sennheisers to everyone looking for a fantastic audio experience. Perfect!

Same price at Maplin and Pixmania.
Sennheisers are excellent, I wouldn't buy anything else now. That's the first Christmas present sorted thanks!

oh yeah the next Christmas is only 340 days away....countdown has began...
check out superlux headphones on amazon. amazing sound for the price, i rate them above the legendary Koss Portapro and somewhere below the iGrados
Im looking at getting HD558's, how big is the difference in quality between them and these?
How do these compare to BEATS?
Got the HD 202's the other day from Amazon for £20. Very pleased with them. I notice they are still £20. Might be some use for someone on a tighter budget.
These HD419's are a hot deal though!

i'd buy these over beats even if they was same price as beats.

Same here.
But .. but .. beats are cool to wear! (teenager head ON!)
Any experts care to comment on whether its worth the extra £55 for these?

To be fair anything sounds awesome compared to the Apple earphones. And Beats are bad, mmmkay.

Are these on-ear or over-ear? I can't stand on-ear headphones...

Seriously though, beats are marketed at people who want a 'designer label'. I have a pair of HD 25-II's and they are very basic looking and are meant for studio use. They're half the price of some beats, and sound better in my opinion. No batteries required for sound cancellation, replaceable parts...I love them!
Sony MDRZX600 are better.
I've got the hd429 headphones a month back when they were on offer at £29.99 delivered at Clas Ohlson. Nice headphones.

I tried these in a store recently and I have to agree. Very good headphones for a reasonable price.
just saw some very similar ones for 30 pounds, cold

I'd probably go with these if price isn't an issue

i got these for christmas and i have found them to be amazing. the bass is soo good. not so good for metal music as i have found as the bass kicks straight over everything else. excellent for dubstep

You'd find the amp a bit tricky to carry around in your jacket pocket, plus I don't think it takes batteries.:p

Do they make a 340 day advent calendar?
Hi. Could someone help me out three headphones getting all amazing reviews and some stylish looking ones out there. Which one to choose out of these three?;
1. Sony MDRZX600

2. SENNHEISER HD 205

3. SENNHEISER HD419
help would be appreciated. They all have real good cable size which is awesome. I also think i will start using one of these 3 for gaming with a clip on mic attached to the headset cheap gaming headset essentially.
"Sennheiser are in my opinion the best headphone manufacturer" - someone needs to do some research. Good? yes. Fairly reliable for people who don't want to do any research? most definitely. Best? No. It's quite silly to call any if them best. I like Sennheiser, but I could name a few more interesting brands.

These better than the Denon AHD1100? (similar price point for both at sub £40)

I think he may have to rethink that whole 'price is not an issue' thing. 10 grand for a set of cans... that's just mental. Would live to hear them though.

You should have read the part where he said 'in my opinion'.
I'm after headphones that sounds good with metal music that will be able to block out the surrounding open plan office (or flights etc) - are these a good option, or should I go with the HD202s or even the Sony MDR ZX600 as mentioned earlier?

Thanks
as much as i like sennheiser you really need to pay £100+ to get a decent quality set, these are cheap and basically rubbish, not a real quality headset. as with everything you need to pay for quality. get hd25's instead if you want real quality. these are the ones to go for amazon.co.uk/Sen…1-1.

not to be confused with these amazon.co.uk/Sen…1-2 which are crap.
3-5 weeks for delivery now

No. Denons are better. I haven't heard these HD419's but have owned Denons in the past and can definitely say that those headphones, at current price of £39.99, are best bang for the buck. May purchase a pair from Sainsburys but HD 25-1 ii's serve me well atm!

Protip- all the gimmicky marketing items which teenagers etc think make them look cool only make them look cool to people who are also duped by the same bullcrap. Everyone else thinks you look like a tool.
Highly recommend any Sennheiser products over the gimmicky products out there (i.e. Beats).

Have owned HD555s and HD595s as well as in-ear Sennheisers for my phone and they've never failed on me. For those that wear glasses the models with velour ear pads are particularly comfortable.
