£170 for the android ones, still a good deal for the over ears rather than the on ears IMO

The in line control is not fully functional with android- but can use with android like any other headphone

I've got the MDR-1As, are these better?

They are in a different league

As in, way better? Or simply can't compare them as there are different?

Had a pair for a week or so and ended up returning them - lacked comfort and felt to rigid. Never had much luck with on ear headphones, especially due to wearing glasses.

GOOD TO HEAR

I absolutely love mine, best sound quality I have ever heard from a pair of Headphones.

I see these as 159

These show up as £159

Anyone tried these vs the Bose Qc25? Different headphones I know but looking for something with good sound and outside noise reduction

Look like the 10 quid Goodmans one's from B&m

If you want active noise reduction look elsewhere. They also don't seal extremely well. So isolation is moderately good.

I too bought these a few weeks ago after trying them out in store, though after a few hours they were very uncomfortable for me, the hole in the ear pads are far too small to call them around ear, it's more hybrid on/around which is just daft. They rubbed the back of my ear until it was painful and red as the pads are quite rigid and the stitching harsh. Great shame as they looked fantastic and sounded decent.

Since bought some Fidelio X2's at £130, twice the size, and open backed so not ideal for outside (not an issue for me) but very comfortable and can't tell they're on my head. Moral of the story, make use of Amazon's return policy until you find a set that are comfortable for you, wearing them for 15 minutes in a store isn't enough! I use them them at least 10 hours a day so needed them to be perfect.

The Bose are much comfier, better with passive noise reduction, and obviously much better with ANC but they sound like a £40 headphone with it turned on.
The M2's did an okay job of passive noise reduction, and sound much better.

You could try the Sony MDR 1000x, I haven't tried them but sound quality is supposed to be much better than the Bose and ANC just as good. Be careful of the headband plastic breaking though, you'll come across the problem if googling enough.

If it helps those following this thread. Managed to get John Lewis to price match Currys who have this one at £127 - in store. Just chose one where there is stock - Solihull in my case - price matched and pick up from my local Waitrose. Job done, my xmas pressie from the wife.
