PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Due to bottlenecks and delays in worldwide supply chains, the manufacturer may have replaced individual components from the original specification with equivalent or even higher quality components. Therefore, the bicycle delivered may deviate from the images in certain cases.

Unless stated otherwise all of our bikes and brake accessories are sold according to the EU standard brake setup (right hand rear and left hand front) which is in reverse to UK standard brake setup.

Mountain biking beginners have different demands on their bike than experienced professionals. They require bikes that are relatively easy to ride offroad. Versatility and balance as well as good riding characteristics both uphill and downhill are important to those starting out with mountain biking.

The stylish Serious Rockville Disc is designed for a wide range of uses. The Rockville Disc gives boasts gear-changing comfort with a wide gear ratio, a solid suspension fork, a sturdy disc brake system and a sturdy aluminium frame. The seating position is less stretched, giving newcomers more control and comfort.

The Rockville Disc is an entry-level mountain bike which impresses both in terms of looks, quality and riding comfort. Moreover, it offers an unbeatable price-performance ratio.

Looking for a commute bike for uni is this a good option or should i wait for a hybrid? And is 50cm frame fine for a 182cm guy?

50cm is just right for a 182cm guy. I'd only go for a larger frame size than recommended if I had daddy-long-legs!
You can confirm at Halfords & Evans too...

If it's slightly off, simply adjust the saddle height to compensate.
Here's a good video guide on getting the saddle height correct, this is very important & makes a bigger difference than one can imagine - could be one of the reasons you find your previous bike hard work (also might need a good oiling?)
Raising mine by just an inch to the correct height made my bike noticeably easier & more comfortable to ride.
A hybrid will be ideal, but this should be fine as it's a relatviely short commute as sinbad571 says.

Would this be a decent buy to convert into electric and ride to work about 4 miles each way.

Why not? It’s not a top end bike but expect to service the cheap bearings after 2 months in winter. If your ebike conversion has new wheels and discs, you’d save a grand or two.

I would seriously consider getting a 2nd hand trek marlin 5 at this price. Just my opinion

Agreed, a good quality secondhand bike would be better in the long run.

I’d also consider that barracuda rock refurb that was posted here. Especially if it’s NOT for everyday commuting use. £142 refurb and it’s selling for £281 at Costco atm. The one I got sent was decent, couple light scratches and that’s it. The guy down the local bike shop was fairly impressed with value for money. Not voted on this one.. though does seem like a good deal also for a NEW bike.

Ordered. Also got the Serious Superlite for my son. They seem to be a good price compared to equivilent we looked at from UK retailers. Particularly liked the fact the kids bke was lighter than what we'd looked at for about same price but with all same or better features. Now we'll see how long takes to deliver.

Forks look awful but apart from that it would be suitable as an introductory real mountain bike for lighter trails but the forks look basic zoom forks which probably don't have spares available and probably quite a small stanchion diameter. I think it would have been a better all purpose general use bike with rigid forks. The £30 delivery cost not only impacts the value a little bit but the longer journey will mean more likely to get damage. Still seems ok value but not great value due to the poor forks.
