Had to look twice when I found this as I've paid £2 for the 350g pack before and that's when it's on offer. So, in Home Bargains they are selling 500g packs of Seriously Strong mature and extra mature cheddar cheese for just £1.99!!! It is not long dated - the ones I bought were the middle of November 2016. But it's a great price for this amount of cheese!

Always have heat for cheese.

Who cares about the date? I had some (sealed) in the fridge for a year... just as good as new.

It won't bother us either!! And we get through loads of cheese anyway so will be lucky to still be around much past it's best before date!

Yes it's around £2 in supermarkets but that is usually for the 350g pack, not the larger 500g pack

This isnt' THAT strong, it can still be cut with a knife.

Not very strong cheese at all - seriously bland unless you buy vintage or special reserve, both of which are strong and tasty. The company's name is seriously misleading.

deservers a lot more heat imo

This stuff is next level strong.. Tastes amazing on pizza. I've also had it in sandwiches and it tastes hardcore. Can also be used as lasagne topping and on jackets.

Extra Mature or stronger, I like a cheese that has a bit of Taste, none of that bland tasteless stuff.

Very much agree, but that's marketing for you. Always take with a pinch. Honesty is a concept alien to them.

Yes sell by dates for cheese are no to be taken seriously so long as it's kept sealed or if you get big blocks and ( 1KG ) and cut it into smaller blocks for easier storage/use and rap it tight in cling film it will stay OK for months in the fridge or pantry, just don't let it get to warm. Dairy producers age the maturity for up to 18 months wrapped in its protective shell.

If you eat cheese straight out of the fridge some of it's strength will be lost, best to let it stand for about half an hour.
