When they first came out the light was always bluish. Now with the warm white ones I can't tell the difference.

If used for 3 hours a day and if electricity is 17p per KW that's about £6.00 for every lamp per year , so in a chandelier (typical application) that would be £36. (six lamps). Typical LEDs use less than a tenth of this.
If the LED lamps cost £5 then you will still have saved more over the first year.
Also Halogens really don't usually last very long. And can be a fire risk.
