Open Box Sonos play:1 Wireless Speaker £119 Sevenoaks Sound
Found 7th JanFound 7th Jan
Discounted to £119 from RRP £149. OPENED Box White still available

Ended up buying a Sonos One, and another Play1 from SevenOaks (lol) Happy to buy another Play1 at £119, great speaker.

Agree! I returned something a while back and they were amazing about it.

Mine has just arrived & is as new all sealed... Very pleased thanks OP (highfive)

Sonos meant to be launching a new element to a playbar setup that will add airplay etc. The thinking is it will be a new rear setup or something like that

You had me at 'As'. I'll set up a price watch and send the missus a link to the thread when the deeds done XD

Good deal but I suspect there is a new model around the corner. I purchased these for £150 courtesy of the England/Panama victory but were never realy worth £379 (not even sure they were ever sold by Sennheiser at this high a price!! Shame on Sevenoaks).

Blasting them now, the NC is great, comfort fab, sound quality is exactly how I love it. I spend a fair time mixing multi tracks with brittle studio cans, these are my relax and enjoy set. OMG I can see what all the fuss is about. Can’t wait to try a flac file with wires (party) (y)

Costco took them back without any questions. Last time I was in there they had them at the same price (if you're a member). Sony/Amazon must also take them back as they sell them as refurbs/open box.

When people are saying they are returning them after not being satisfied, where are you returning them to? Most places i have checked wont take them back if the box is open for hygiene reasons. Also if anybody has any suggestions at this price range for either wireless or true wireless please share ;)

I received the Beoplay E8s for Xmas. Fantastic sound when working but have had some of the reported dropouts. It seems none of these wireless buds currently work 100% as intended. Anybody have any they would recommend?

If listening on phone running other apps or even my fitness trackers Bluetooth caused drop outs. Once I learned that the hard way-no problems. Did lag with VLC on my phone and iPad -this time it was the apps. When I use it at I have very few problems if any as my phone 📲 isn’t really doing much

Most defo not. Was prepared to go to 2k for a 65c8. So well pleased. Right time right place scenario.

I think then you managed JL to price match a scam site inadvertently. Congratulations (lol) . Yes don’t think though you can count the price you paid for yours as normal?

Nope. Was lucky enough to get JL to price match the electronics emporium b4 it was shut down. They were doing the c8 for 2050 minus 20% discount. I was amazed that JL price matched so jumped on it str8 away. Best bargain I've had in a good while. Took a few phone calls though to get my £1148 back off JL. One of them even said they shouldn't have given it to me but as they had they would have to honour it.

“Ive not long had the 65c8 on a price match from JL for £1634. Awesome TV. But this is a lot of dosh for an extra 12 inches! “ hmmm really? Call me sceptical but havent you just changed that b8 to a c8 (lol)

You know grado , every higher number as upgrades, also the fit. The 125, and 225, 325, go over the ear, but rest on them.....sr60 press on the ear....but you can alter the foam pads... for me I like all of them. All good in there own way...boils down to what you want to spend. And if for home or portable the sr60 are about the only pair you could wear out.....and they still not

Are the sr225 that much different than the sr60?

Great headphones...but already got Sr 60, Sr 225 and Sr 325i..

Best headphones I have ever owned. I mean, I'd love a £400 pair of Grados more but that isn't going to happen. Open back isn't for everyone (or indeed anybody else in the immediate vicinity) but to my ears are better than any closed phones.

Fantastic headphones. They leak so not suitable for bus/train use etc.

87dB - not too loud.... Hot! I've seen exactly the same in second hand shop for £249.

lol Of course. I see.

In the wall sockets. Plan is to have speakers in each room, connected via chromecast cast audio. Hence the cost of the speakers is important, can't afford £200 times 5. We mainly listen to podcasts and audio books with a bit of music thrown in. So the top end speakers are really overkill for us.

Get an apple 4K. Netflix, apple content plays via Atmos. Plus if you have an Xbox one great demos and games with atmos

What's the best way to watch Atmos films? Netflix? PS4? (Via amp)

Awesome speakers. Had it for 2 weeks, still tweaking the front speakers for Atmos :) Mines teamed up with the Sony strdn1080. Loving it apart from Sony's glitch with amp always going home when it first fires off

I have focal dome speakers and sound quality is really awesome. You do need an amp. I have Sony strdn1050 and kef floor standers for fronts and 5.1 focal dome.

So that's what 8K is....😁

How are these wall mounted because the stand is a speaker?

Weirdly it doesnt really have an upward angle. it's practically vertical. The stand stick backward & is heavy enough that it's really stable.

Isn’t that photo frame upward angle slightly annoying?

Useful to know as the retailer wants £69 for the separate preamp. So better to go for the USB model Then?

It is well built and I don't think you will find better at this price point Seany2687. The Pro-Ject Primary Phono USB (around £60 more) also includes a pre-amp with USB output so you can connect to a line-level input on your hifi system or a PC/Mac. The turntable in this post does not include a preamp so you would need to connect it either to an external RIAA pre-amp or an amplifier with a specific phono input.

There are people in here that know way more than me about turntables. But from my perspective at a price of £100-£150 there are many so called 'branded' Turntables such as Sony denon lenco pioneer marantz that are rebranded Chinese units. This makes me feel a little mistrust. They are obviously ok otherwise they would not sell so many and there are good reviews . The lenco l-85 for example (not the l85) is well regarded at a price point of £100 or so and can be bought refurbished for £50 . There are some good reviews of the audio technica lp60usb which go on to challenge some of the points raised by others such as high cartridge weight. See what hifi review and youtube. From what I have read almost everywhere though , rega and project make turntables that have reviews which are higher than these brands. Because of their audio quality. But at this price they lack the features such asbuilt in preamp, usb record and automatic tonearm. You have to make a decision. The audio technica lp3 seems to balance it all and is £149. But for the same price you get a project with less features. What we need as consumers is sample audio and you can see this on YouTube where one reviewer has ripped a song on an old technics turntable and a AT LP60. They're not much different to be honest!

So, I am looking for an entry level turntable but not interested in the plastic builds knocking around in the same price range or lower. Will this fit the bill? I was considering the project primary phono before seeing this.

No you didn't, you don't know what you are talking about. Bigsky will be along shortly to explain why with some facts. ;) :/

Most audiophiles don't use a subwoofer for listening to music, so they rely on a Speaker that can go low without adding a sub.

You wouldn't want to use them below 120hz anyway. You would use a proper subwoofer for that.

The apple speakers CAN be played at full volume and still hear your every word.

It won’t be ass immersive and these big lads always need to be next to the wall. With HomePod and specially two of them, you can put them anywhere and get great sounds, almost as great as these two big lads. HomePods cost less, take less space and can actually connect effortlessly.

Apple is the only company that’s actually pro consumer privacy and stood up to the us government when everyone else bent over and took it like a champ! Siri is the most useless assistance because of their pro stance on privacy and not harvesting user data! I mean you can hate on Apple for being Apple but I have to call you stupid when you say something stupid.

Nice, I've been checking myself hoping to get my dad a pair cheap but prices have held quite well. Still cheaper than they have been but I hoped for cheaper.

Just got some bose for £220 delivered. Thanks for the heads up. Doubt they will drop to £150 most are selling £220-260

I'm loving the bose so I'll be keeping mine I'm afraid. The phone is superb, best I've had yet. I think with regards software it depends what you are used to, I personally found apple far too restricted with what you can do and found the user interface slow and clunky, Android is more open for developers to play around with toys. But we're all different so I will always respect others opinions. One of the big selling points of the Bose is google assistant which it sounds like would be no good to you.

HDMI cable there for £395. Bargain!

Highly inflated RRPs to make the 'discount' look better. Take this amp: RRP @ Richer Sounds says £499. RRP @ SevenOaks says £549...which is why Richer Sounds are only charging £50 extra for a BRAND NEW amp compared to this end of lease item which will inevitably die out of warranty sooner rather than later.

Decent hifi kit (Naim, Linn etc) seems to be going up around 10% every year (manufacturer, not due to SSAV). Can't see how this is sustainable!

I agree with Dreamaker - this is quite a high price for an ex demo TV that has had thousands of hours use. I’m hoping for some big price drops on this model when the 2018 range arrive in the shops, as long as they don’t sell out first. John Lewis told me they have plenty in stock across the country. I suspect LG have a much bigger profit margin on this model than the B7/E7 which are similar but don’t have the forward facing speakers in the sound bar (or the glass display) - this explains their £500/£800 cashback offer which is only available on the OLED55E7 and OLED65E7.

Is Sevenoaks on the list for the cashback offer ? Im tempted

It is a bit of a gamble getting an ex display Oled because you may be getting a screen with burn in and or banding. Also if you identified a fault would the retailer provide another ex display tv or a new one? I would rather go for an unused tv at this price point. Still a great tv if you can get a good one at this price.

Richer sounds had an display with the cash back advertised so I emailed LG about a ex display model last month they said the cash back has to be used on new tv no refurbishments and no ex display. Assume this is still the case
