I wouldn't risk it with the giant pike that you get in that Canal.

Maybe as Im sure you need a licence to do so.

Looks ideal for a red bull soapbox conversion.

In light of your comment, I have deleted mine as evidently I have been paddling without a licence (joypaddling?!). It may be that my knowledge is out of date (possibly due to the canal and river trust taking over from British waterways) or straight up wrong!)

I am a big unit.. I wonder if i should go for the Tahiti as the Riviera is limited to 155kg where as the Tahiti is 200kg. Anyone know if the Tahiti is ok for 2 people? No interest in the 3rd seat really

Ordered the sevylor taihiti for £68
Thanks for the post OP

That'll take a lot of puff to blow up!!

I have the two seater Tahiti. It can be converted to a single seater as the seats are clipped to the sides. It may be possible to remove one of the seats from the 2+1, but would advise checking first.

Rhinopaul, what's your take on this link... The 3rd FAQ near the bottom of the page? On the one hand, the website has you believe that you need a licence yet in that FAQ, regarding inflatables, the wording states "if one [licence] is needed"? Colour me confused!

^^ in before me

Is an inflatable toy or a canoe though

That's a great deal. Just paid £89 on Ebay and thought I got a good deal.

the best thing to do is contact your local waterways for 100% confirmation.

I think its possibly referring to River navigations where a licence is not required as stated on bottom page.

There are a number of non-tidal rivers where navigation rights are recognised and where boats are not a required to be licensed. Known examples are the River Wye below Hay-on-Wye, River Lugg from Leominster, River Severn between Pool Quay near Welshpool and Stourport, and River Rother (East Sussex) from Robertsbridge

I didnt realise the the 2 seat Tahiti was reduced. I just changed my order to the Tahiti as i figured it was worth an extra tenner. But i can see what the difference is and the Tahiti doesn't mention that it comes with Oars.. So i hope its an upgrade.

Very tempted by this, but we already have a couple of single person Kayak's.

This is good.

I don't think the Tahiti comes with a paddle as it is listed as an option extra (with the pump)

Agreed and thats my point. The Rivera looks the same with different seats and it has oars. And its cheaper. So i am confused whether the Tahiti is the better buy?

How did you come to the conclusion in that case of thinking its an upgrade. The rrp is not a basis to asume its better. In fact the Riviera can take more payload and it has oars supplied.

I personally think you made the wrong decision unless you already own paddles/oars?

I think you are right... But whilst i was looking for oars, i found a local guy selling a Tahiti+ With pump, 2 oars and 2 life jackets.. Used twice and ye wanted £50. So i cancelled my order and bought that instead. Better option for ke since i bought thos on a whim and am only likely to use it once.

That sounds like a better deal. Hope you enjoy it.
