I remembered seeing this article come up, not sure if it affects this psu, but apparently some of the range may have issues:

Thanks for sharing that. Given that they recalled versions manufactured between Oct-19 and Mar-20; you would expect that they are not selling that batch! One hopes anyway.

Funnily enough bought one of their plugs but different range from currys. Fingers crossed they aren't as bad as these seem to be

I am as baffled as you are!
Having recently done a SFFPC build in a relatively roomy case I would fully recommend getting a semi modular PSU at least, fully modular is possible (like this one). Although mine was half the price it's a pain for cable management.

They aren't, but they shouldn't be this expensive. Corsair are simply inflating the price to keep it a premium item, I bought mine in 2016 for £70 same spec not much has changed.

Glad I clicked on this deal, I have an SF750 bought a few months ago and looks like the serial is within the range so thank you!

I'm sure the Corsair Shop wont be shipping anything from that batch!

What SFX PSU did you get in 2016 for £70??!!
dugie13/06/2020 17:30

The SF600.

Seems pretty flat to me, with the exception of offers, inflation, and obviously the current lock down price surge - Gold looks like it should be around £100 in 2020 pricing and £120 for Platinum seems right to me

Certainly doesn't seem over-inflated by Corsair, especially given what you get extra with the Platinums.

Got it from Scan today only price £70, IIRC usually price was £85. Even from your graph it shows the price steadily increase.

EDIT:
Just noticed that this is for the Platinum model, mine was Gold
