Great album.....great price! excellent find!

Some other classics in there too, Joshua Tree, Pet sounds, Nevermind...

Putting this on here was for the benefit of Mr Kite.

Clearly copied Lonnie Donegans Skiffle band.

Overated

CDs in Poundland are definitely getting better
Heated

This is the one when Paul died and was replaced.

Why was this a double CD? My 2009 copy is a single CD. Maybe it's a bootleg?

It's a good deal....

But since when is sgt pepper's a double cd? It's a double lp but single cd. Is this definitely the genuine article?

Reminds me of a line from Alan Partridge, when someone ask him who were Wings, and Alan replies "they were the band the Beatles could have been"

my favourite album is probably 'the best of the Beatles ' lol.

Great price and surprising that it should be in a Pound shop. I doubt it will be in many though as surely a bit of a fluke. Only CD's I ever see are the 90's deadstock pop stuff.

Is the Sgt Peppers cd the late 80's release in plastic case?

Ha, always thought Steve Coogan missed that line, he should have said either the 'blue' or 'red' one

I believe that they are a popular beat combo m'lord commonly held in high regard by certain elements of the younger generation.

They do have some rare gems, like the Doves, Starsailor etc. Have to hunt for them amongst Geri Halliwell and the entire back catalogue of Robbie Williams and the Sugababes though!

Poundland have sold 'Replay' (pre-owned) CD for ages, and it is pot luck / store specific what titles you find.

Thanks. I wondered what a "reconditioned" CD was as posted by OP.
If these are all pre-owned then presumably the stock will vary from one Poundland to the next.
Will pop in next time I'm in town.
Thanks OP.

I've bought a good lot from of cds from poundland and they have always been in good condition but it is pot luck really what your local store will have

Yeah, is random what stock goes to each store. They must have bought alot early this year from Replay (aren't they Music Magpie / Zoverstocks / Estocks?) as there were better titles replacing the 90s / 00s stuff they couldn't shift in a couple of stores I was in.

The condition of their discs is excellent - as good as new and not as hit and miss as zoversstocks etc. will have a look later in town. How much was it?;)

will he be at the show tonight ?

Ive still got my original vinyl LP and now my hearing is shot I no longer hear the pops and crackles so to me just as good as a CD :-)

Which poundland was this in?

I so, so, so loved this album when I was young.

But...

If I play it now it sounds really dated and it's a struggle to listen to the whole thing.

Of course it's one of the greatest albums ever made but sadly I doubt I'll ever listen to my copy again.

It says alot for the state of music, that something that rhyes with Mr Kite (One direction), is being mentioned in the same sentence as the Beatles!

Yep, Alan would have been a red man, they were failry wholesome back then. I think the blue album would have been too racy for him....

I always thought this band were amazingly over-rated. A few flashes of genius like 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and 'Helter Skelter' with far too many annoyingly trite nursery rhymes e.g. 'Yellow Submarine'

Heat for the price.

You think so?

Stating either red or blue would have shown he had some actual knowledge so saying 'the best of' was spot on IMO.

Ahh but what flashes of brilliance.

I kind of agree but about 10-20% of their stuff was and is incredible

I can think of only two songs that could be described as trite nursery rhymes, the other being octopus's garden.
