Share your amazon prime benefits with 1 adult + up to 4 kids completely free!

I haven't seen this before, and a quick search didn't find it on here.

You can share your prime benefits (kindle lending library, free delivery, video streaming, digital content) with 1 adult and up to 4 kids in the same household. Obviously a lot of people effectively did this by running everything on one account, but some privacy is nice - and my birthday presents can finally arrive on time

in before the 'its not a deal' people. Its not technically, but loads of hukd members are prime members, so this will save a lot of them money
Think you have to share payment details with other party.
Might bother some.
Surely needs moving to misc.
i think payment methods are shared if you want to share some benefits (might be books & videos, but you get delivery anyway). It mentioned that when I signed up but I can't remember for sure. The actual details (ie card number) isn't shared.

I share prime with my sister (I'm the secondary one).

Not once have the payment details been shared, and with books you can choose whether or not to share them when you purchase them.

I'm still using the 1 + 4 adults since over a year. Not sure if the changes are for newer accounts

I tried it with a friend, delivery and video didnt work without shared payment details.
"Amazon Student Prime members (free trial or paid) or invited guests of other Prime members can't share their benefits. However, other types of Amazon Prime members can share eligible benefits with those types of members."

That's a shame.. Still hot though!
I shared my Prime before the change so that was the delivery and Amazon Video but not Kindle books, etc. If I restarted my account now I'd share the new stuff but I'd be sharing my payment methods too.

Learn how to Add an Adult to Your Amazon Household. To find out more about creating and managing child profiles, see our Help page about Family Library.

Note: To share content and Amazon Prime benefits, both adult account holders need to authorise each other to use payment cards associated with their Amazon accounts for purchases at Amazon. This won't affect either of their current payment settings, but each adult will be able to copy the payment cards of the other account to his or her Amazon account and use them for purchases at Amazon."
Already sharing the 'free' deliveries with two family members in different parts of the UK plus two more still living at this address.

The digital content sharing doesn't work, though - I'm assuming this is for newer accounts where you can't share free deliveries with 4 other people.
Been like this for ages

No u dont. Seperate. I do this with my partner.
Didn't know about it, thanks!
How's this hot? You used to be able to share Prime delivery with up to 4 people, now it's just one and you have to agree to share stored payment cards.
Agreed. This prime sharing is rubbish. e.g. I'd like to let my 18 yo daughter share Prime Delivery... she still lives in the same house as me - but there ain't no way I'm ever giving her the ability to make purchases on my Card.
So, she's stuck with economy delivery, while I get next day.

I agreed to that when I became linked to my sister's prime account but in reality I have absolutely no access to her payment details, nor her to mine.

One other thing of note is that I only seem to get the prime delivery & Amazon prime promotions but I don't get the video streaming services, I think only the initial prime account holder gets the video streaming services.

I'm not complaining though as for me it's free!

I like Amazon, but I could never justify £80 a year ontop of whatever I am buying just for the convenience of next day delivery.

I use Amazon a lot, but more and more products are 'add-on' items with a minimum £20 spend and I've noticed that frequently their prices are more expensive than other online, or even in-store, shops.

Amazon used to be have good prices but they're now seemingly relying heavily on people being lazy an/or wanting next day prime delivery.
Has anyone shared with someone in a different household ? Does it work being different ip address
Good to know, I may be able to stop bothering my wife to use her account.

Yes I share it with my mum and she doesn't live with me although with the number of times she makes an excuse to just "drop" by she might as well live with me...I particularly liked the time she thought I might be interested in her junk mail and brought it to show me and was then most put it out when I put it straight in the bin...yes ok on reflection I probably should've waited until after she left but you live an learn

Seriously though we live at different addresses and share prime (I'm the main account holder) but we also had to share our payment details with each other in order to share prime...her payment card is on my account and my payment card is on her account.
Please somebody share with me. Im poor.
I thought they stopped this last year? Or made it so only people in same house can have it... so great if its back as means the thread on here for selling a portion of your prime can come back?

EDIT: I see the change is you need to share payment cards which I guess you wouldnt want to do with a stranger...

I use it to share next day deliveries and so on - but seems am not able to share the Prime Music service with anyone else. I hoped to replace my daughters Spotify service (£10 monthly) with it, but no such luck.

Although you are right, it is nice to have the occasional thing like this in Deals as it gets out to a much wider audience.

Sharing Delivery definitely doesnt require payment details to be shared. I am sharing delivery without sharing payment details.
Desperation to get people to use prime.
it's a shame this doesn't include Amazon music

It used to - I'm sharing with 4 other people, 2 of whom live elsewhere in the UK. Completely different names, addresses, credit cards etc..

Had it for several years now, though, and they've tightened the rules on more recent subscriptions I believe.

Hardly - it's always been that way. In fact it's more restricted now than it used to be.
If you have had prime for a couple of years and shared it with other family (up to 4) , they will be able to take advantage of the prime delivery element on there accounts. So no sharing payment details, purchase history etc.

This was removed over 12 months ago and replaced with what is talked about here, where you have to share payment details. If you don't share payment details, you are likely on a legacy account like I am. I've just renewed and they haven't taken it off me or my other 4 family members accounts, I just hope they don't.

if you have the old style prime and just let it renew with no changes then apparently you keep the same set up with potentially 5 sharing/paying members
been confirmed by a few people on chat

All the "I share with my X and I don't share my CC details" should note, the rules changed. If you shared with various people prior to the changes, then this continued. However if you now try and do it you add them as your household and they do indeed share all payment information.
My one is shared with 15 adults who just use their own cards to make purchases to their own addresses. Doesnt everyone do that?
Shame it's not eligible for Student Prime account (sure a lot of people have that from the NUS Extra card deals). I'll have to keep sharing the one account with my partner, but heat added for those who can use this.
I dont understand how this can be HOT? As per new rules you can just share it with one adult who has access to your payment methods.
I dont see a reason why you would need to share a prime subscription at home.

Previously you could do a share with four strangers and thats when it was a deal. Not now.
COLD.
Amazing! I knew you could share delivery but didn't know about this. Spotify cancelled

It doesn't share th Amazon prime music aspect so you probably don't want to cancel Spotify. I think video is still shareable but unfortunately not music
thanks op!

Well, yes.. through the tons of commission we must generate clicking links and buying useless carp.

How does the "kids" part work, can you create kindle/video only accounts or something like that? Seems like that could be quite useful and not necessarily only for "kids"...
