"i give the shark 5 stars"
We have one of these. It's not too bad, performance wise and it's very compact when folded. However, it's fairly irritating because:

1. There is a right angle as the air enters the collection chamber with a small diameter. It tends to block here.
2. The Lance has a non-round opening and because it folds in the middle is complex. Again, it often blocks here (an inconvenient place).
3. It's not really cyclonic, it relies on filters. So you have to clean or replace them a lot.
4. Dirt doesn't really fall out of the bin, so you have to fish it out with your hands.

That said, the floor brush is great and pick up is good when the machine is in peak condition. It's irritating enough that I would consider alternatives if I was buying again.

What do you mean when you say Dirt doesn't really fall out of the bin?

What do you mean when you say Dirt doesn't really fall out of the bin?

I mean when you push the open button the bottom door opens but because of the structure of dirt in a house with carpets (and a spaniel) plus the fact that it tends to get wrapped around / stuck to the mesh at the centre of the dust bin it often doesn't fall out and you have to pull it out by hand.

I guess your experience is different?
