Re battery life, we live in a 4 bedroom house and the shark manages the house 3 or 4 times before it needs charging. How on earth people are taking more than 22 minutes to vacuum a house is beyond me!
Nice and handy as my 3 year old Dyson V6 has recently died. A tip for those with a Cordless Dyson, don't use it in Turbo mode as it kills the battery life. Apparently if I didn't use the Turbo mode the vacuum would've lasted 5 years.

Now I know why Dyson only give 2 years warranty on their cordless range where-as they give 5 years on their corded vacuums.

We've got a shark duo with one battery. At full charge it's just enough to go around the whole house (4 bed) - however I should also say most of our floors are tile/wood or laminate - that's probably less intensive than carpet brushing mode.
Battery does take a long time to recharge - I'd guess at 2-3 hrs.
Very pleased with the performance, except its not good at coping with long hair (2 teenage girls shed more hair than the dog) and it just wraps around the brushes, needing cutting and pulling out every other clean.

Is the claimed 22 minutes battery time not accurate? What time do you get?

I got no idea but I know Mrs Loyal sought guidance from friends who have bought cordless and regretted it very quickly not just because of original time but how rapidly the holding of the charge deteriorated too.

I know for a fact 22 minutes would not be nearly enough for our gaff when she starts blitzing and my eldest’s nan has the same problem with a Dyson cordless and her place is tiny.

Appreciate leads are a pain at times but they’re very much essential on such power hungry devices as hoovers I’d argue.

Depends on how you use it. There is a button for carpet vs hard floor which spins extra brush inside.
The hv390uk is £136 at Amazon for anyone who wants one.
Ordered, thanks
Superb vacuum cleaner with wonderful attention to design detail. Worth holding out for the IF250 though with its spare battery (and two battery charger). Battery life is good but it’s nice to have a ready charged spare to pop in.
Very well designed and made machine, had a Dyson before but this is far better.
Which one is good for lady hairs
Just pre ordered the corded Duo-Clean. Already own a lift away and it beats our Dyson hands down. This will be a good upgrade.

Just having a laugh Chas. I’d be delighted to do the hoovering in 22. I’ve got a dyson cordless and the battery lasts about 5 mins if that. Cordless = useless.

Totally agree mate, I said right at the outset of this thread that when it comes to vacuum cleaning cordless really ain't cutting it.

Think it was more certain individuals got offended by me suggesting their hygiene levels might not be as stringent as others to be managing to vacuum a 4 bedroom house 3 or 4 times on a hot single 22 minute charge.

The stairs alone take 10 minutes to get done proper in our gaff and we hardly reside in a stately home but I suppose others are less fussy

Because they have animals?
Jeezo. I've heard good things about this Shark one. And bad things about the battery on the Dyson ones.

I've had my Gtech AirRam mk.1 for about 6 years now or something. Never missed a beat. Still on the original battery and it's never once run out on me! I'm only in a 2 bed flat right enough, but it looks like Gtech win on battery life if nothing else!
i have dison v8 rubbbbbbbbih .not good i cn hardly use 7 minute and stops dont buy

How does this compare to the Dyson V7? which would you recommend? I was going to buy the refurb v7 for £199 off eBay. Thanks

Judging from comments on HUKD this is better than any cordless Dyson other then maybe a V10.

Ditto. I have a Dyson V6 and can get around 10 rooms in 20 mins no probs on a single charge with two bin empties. Guess it depends how often you Hoover/how much fluff/grit you got to pick up. I find fifteen mins 3 times a week is sufficient.
The miracles of marketing, Dyson is a master at it. Why do we all get sucked in to believing his little motors powered by a bog standard battery will be a miraculous game changer. All now manufactured abroad.
