2940374.jpgThe Drakonia Black is the follow-up model to our popular Green Drakonia.

Like before, the Drakonia Black has eleven buttons and a 4-way scroll wheel, with each being freely programmable through the included configuration software to perform various different functions.

An ADNS-9800 laser sensor from Avago operates under the gray dragon scales casing, with the current DPI setting in use indicated by a constantly illuminating LED.

The SoftSkin surface of the Drakonia Black offers a soft grip and prevents perspiration build-up, ensuring the mouse fits perfectly in hand even during heated battles.

Its ergonomic shape is designed for stability and control: its outward curved rear offers more grip during very small and precise movements as well as a high-level of comfort during long gaming sessions.

The Drakonia Black is aimed especially to a FPS sniper and RTS/RPG gamers; the type of players who typically launch themselves into long battles and epic adventures. On the bottom of the Drakonia Black you will find six metal weights comprising of the weight tuning system, allowing the fighting weight of the mouse to be adjusted at any time.

Amazon Q&A:

The difference between the black and green version? Is it just the color?

Answer:

Having had both and from my research online the differences i am aware of are that the Black version uses a newer version of Avago's Laser sensor, the 9800 as opposed to the green's 9500, giving the Black a max DPI of 8.2k rather than the Green's 5k. This allows it to be more precise when set to the higher dpi options, however many people do not use these often as settings such as 2k often suffice for fps, strategy and other gaming as well as general desktop use, with the higher functions in fps being mostly used in situations such as when using heavy mounted turrets that are less responsive than your standard equipment.
The black also weighs 5 grams more and has a matte finish
where the green has a gloss finish which i've personally seen wear off and/or become chipped and uncomfortable to use.
The Black has Blue DPI indicator LEDs, the Green has green ones.

It's also worth mentioning that both of mine have shared issues with the Rear LED lighting symbol, the colours shown in the application do not accurately represent how they will appear on the mice. They also flicker at a high speed while changing profiles, which may or may not be a problem for people with photosensitive epilepsy so i'll mention that here just in case, if anyone else could supply more information on that it would be appreciated.
The box art for the Black is also inaccurate
as the scales are light grey, not the dark grey shown and so i would advise examining some photographs online if this concerns you.

It's highly likely you'll just get Open Box (long-time Amazon Warehouse purchaser).

it's still a mouse mate. It's just has more features than your standard mouse, which makes it easier or more convinent to play some games.

Hopefully all will be okay. I've bought a few PC mice (I prefer wired mostly) from Amazon Warehouse and my experiences have generally been excellent. Usually they're untouched and still cable-tied up.

Just don't ask me about the in-ear headphones I've received - which have been minging!! So it's all hit and miss.

Definitely hit and miss - I've bought two mice from Amazon Warehouse deals in the past - both which have been in awful/unusable condition and had to return.

I'm slightly tempted to try one last time, but I don't understand how some stuff can be fine, yet other stuff is in just awful condition.
Mine just arrived. Tiny bit of superficial damage to the box and that’s it. Hadn’t even been opened. Really pleased, great mouse too.
Got mine today, it's missing the plastic cover for the weights.
Will have to contract amazon and see what they can do. Still not bad for a tenner.

D'oh, Amazon Warehouse is often a roll of the dice. They'll offer 20% off, tell you to return or they may even refund and say you can keep it, seems to depend on the Chat Agent.
Thanks OP, heat added! My mouse just arrived, I ordered a "Used - Very Good" one. Everything seems to be working fine and all items were included, just the outer packaging box was a bit crumpled. The cable tie is even still on the mouse. It didn't occur to me but I have made sure to wipe down the mouse with a wet wipe after reading the previous comments on this thread haha. I love this mouse, it definitely feels a lot sturdier and well-built than the other mouses I have bought from Amazon for ~£10 RRP.
I added details about another Sharkoon mouse on Warehouse and it was deleted (?) - it wasn't spam and I was trying to be helpful? The Mods (I assume that's what happened) can be a bit over-zealous sometimes....it's in context, it's not offensive, it's shared with good intentions!

The Drakonia might come back, it seems to come and go from Warehouse.

This Sharkoon SHARK Force Gaming Mouse was the one I linked to, Amazon's price is obviously a price error (which I thought would have been obvious to whoever deleted it!!) and isn't as highly-specced (no weights, for example).

Might be worth a look, anyway. Used - Good £7.82 and Used - Very Good (which, weirdly, has a worse description!) for £8.27.

Although specs are not as good and i don't really like that colour.

Yep, the Amazon review in the Deal post highlights the differences between the Black and Green (different sensors, mainly). I wouldn't touch Used - Acceptable either! I'm sure the Black will reappear at some point.
