Looks like two recently released models from Sharp - the tv alone is selling at £500+ elasewhere, so it appears to be a pretty good deal to include the Blu-ray dvd player....

Would the cold voters point me to a better deal ???????????

I doubt it.:?

Looks good to me. Alot of retailers are throwing in older BD players now (this is version 1.1) but for most people this is a great freebie.

Voted hot

iam not voting hor or cold as i dont know about the current recent tv prices

but i bought the sony 40" 1080p v3000 for £566 empire direct

so this slightly more and 3 inches smaller and a lower brand just simply dosent seem like a hot deal to me

i know u get a free blue ray player but still dosent justify the price for me

cold but i aint voting

Sharp is not a lower brand than Sony. This TV is a better buy than the 40V4000 and with a Blu ray thrown in should be a no brainer. Voted Hot

Sharp is a better brand than Sony. Sony is regular high street stuff, Sharp is a little closer to the prosumer market like panasonic, Philips, etc. Good deal but aint to sure if the bluray player is future proof.

if your are an NHS employee you can get it for £499 i think ]http//nh…829
Though you dont get the blu ray free

Well I bought this deal last week and love it. Perfect size tv - not too big and the quality of the blu-ray is amazing.

Get your HDMI cables from Amazon for £4.99 delivered (in just over 24 hours too!!!) dont be conned by getting them at Comet for £50!

This a great TV with very good picture quality.
Makro were doing it last week for 499+VAT incl. blu-ray and 5 yr warranty.

I bought this too. TV is fine.

Does anyone have problems getting the Digital TV (DTV) settings to pick anything up?

I have 2 freeview boxes in my house that get signal however the main TV & aerial doesn't get anything. My dad bought the same TV and he is having the same problem.

Not really a problem for me. I loop the aerial from the freeview to the tv and it picks up most channels. I would say the signal is a bit weaker so you get it breaking up now and again.
