Same - the one I bought has been dreadful - switches itself off randomly, takes ages to respond to remote when switched on (then all the button presses at once when it catches up, to name just a couple.

Sharp is the only brand of TV I'd never buy.
I’d say at this price it’s not an actual Sharp TV and more than likely a rebranded one.

Yep, Sharp haven't made their own TV's for a long time, as such.... initially they allow UMC to use their brand name under their 'strategic alliance' (eg Sharp let UMC make their TVs) and more recently Sharp acquire a large stake in UMC.

Whatever, these are Polish made rather than really being much to do with the Sharp brand of old.

Got a UMC/Sharp from Tesco a couple of Black Friday's ago....Personally think UMC are better than Vestel...not a particularly bad TV, decent picture with a few tweaks...a few more options though would have been better...main niggles for me are that it doesn't have Amazon Prime Video or any gamma settings...get some picture noise with green and some black shades.

That was a £180 40 inch 1080p set though just for the bedroom, at £300, 4K and this size I think the cash might be better put towards something else, particularly if it was for a lounge set.

The UMC TV factory in Poland was originally built and operated by Sharp.

Oh yes so it was, started as a subsidary of Sharp, going their own way, still making Sharp TVs then being bought back by Sharp.

Whether it makes them any better than Vestel, they're both pretty much aiming for the value sector of the TV world, aka budget TVs. Sharp were never really that highly rated back when they did make their own CRT TVs. I've no experience of their UMC colaboration though.
Slowness of the interface/remote is the main annoying issue I think. Rest, honestly, works fine.
Bad tvs mine is made out of 3 faulty sets lol
these lcds are getting made so cheap these days how long before they are fire hazzards ?

Silly comment, and nothing to do with the post
I had a SHARP TV once ,and never again!. Did not display properly what was on tv program , stop respond on a remote so had to switch it of . Screen was to dark. I tried lots of set ups and configurations- nothing work. Buy a samsung and my jaw hit the floor.
