Thank you
Sorry not much good at adding on here, but thought it was a good deal so I had a go at posting.

In shopping trolley it shows as £299
This looks very interesting but I could do with knowing more about the TV. I'd rather wait and save more money if the set is poor quality, however, if it's decent enough then I might just be tempted by this.
Probably made by the one and only Vestel.
This sharp 50" @ Tesco looks the same, and similar price

Noticed a couple of comments mentioning motion blur and seeing as Tesco sell this TV at £329 normally, then it hasn't done it for me.
nothing to do with Sharp anymore unfortunatly, cheap rebranded tv nothing more
UMC now have 'a strategic alliance' with Sharp for their audio video products - also known as using Sharp's name on UMC products

http://www.umc-slovakia.sk/company/strategic-alliance-sharp-umc/

This looks the same as Blaupunk 49" TV which is from UMC so it would seem likely so does this Sharp. Makes a change from NOT being a Vestel.

Very tempted, seems like a lot of TV for the money even if it is a UMC.
This or the bush for £250?

I still would go for a better model, personally anyway.

Got this deal last year hotukdeals.com/dea…908 .Panel failed within 6 months of maybe 5-6 hours a day, sent it in to UMC who replaced the panel and sent it back. Recieved it only for there to be another issue with the logic board (scrambled screen menus all over the place).

Had to send it back again only for them to blame the couriers, the only saving grace for me was the 18 month warranty (12 months standard, 6 extra when you register online), warranty for me runs out a few days before christmas, i'll be selling it after that time.

Another thing to note for any warranty claims the original packaging needs to be kept, not ideal on a 50 inch TV

Looks amazing price for big TV, but I would prefer to spend bit more and get something from John Lewis with 5 year warranty.
Urghh.. Sharp.
for my bed room or not , already got a 50" tv

The Tesco one says 3 HDMI and 2 USB, Argos site says 2 HDMI and 1 USB ?
good price for 50'
It's still £299.99 you could put against a branded tv. Not for me.

There's always been a price on bush. Personally I prefer a cleaner look.

Yeah I'd go for somethine else as well, I don't think there's much between UMC or Vestel, they're both budget range TV's, some may have no problems and others may have.

I have had two sharp TVs and both have been great last one had for 7 years a full hd 37 inch sold it fully working . And bought a 46 inch sharp Aquos for 299 from richer sounds and it's been fine .
Tx 483c00b panasonic 48" led tv is a better bet at 359 on john lewis. I mean whats a couple of inches?

they don't make panels though.

your better off going for a proper brand name that makes their own panels or buy their panels from a top brand name.

LG, Samsung, Sony and Panasonic are the only companies I would buy from today.

I just bought a 24" Dell U2414H recently for just under £200 to use with my xb1 and ps4. So this is a lot of tv at 50" for an extra £100. But I would never touch it personally.

For me quality > quantity.

I have a 50" GT50 for movies but again I had to pay a premium for that (RRP £1600).
Umc stuff is strange... the blaupunk tv and emotion tv are both the same but the emotion I got from tesco couldnt support things with dolby audio eg xbox yet the blaupunk would
Nice price but argos has had a major problem with tv's as there is a part in them that fails and an engineer has said they are unable to get the replacement part. So if its an old stock line save your money as your smart tv wont be very smart. Sorry op havent voted either way.
