Seems to me like another bargain at the Ponders End store. Sad that I don't need the TV. But price is fantastic for 50 inch tv.

Half the price of most similar sized 4K models makes it a good deal in my book, I’m still hanging out for a sub £375 Samsung or Sony 4K though, but heat added as good for somebody.
Its a vestel TV so no better than a bush, hitachi and polaroid sadly.
£379 online so a bargain. I bought the 49 inch model in the Black Friday sales for £199. Been excellent so far. OK not 4K but as I don’t pay through the nose for Sky and only have 12 Mbps broadband 1080p is great for me. Sound is very good for a flat screen too

You forgot Panasonic, Toshiba nd a whole lot more. At this price I’d be happy with a Vestel panel, as I have said I bought the 49inch for £199 as a second TV to watch the footy on, so far it has been faultless. It’s also one of the very few TVs that sounds reasonable without a sound bar

I'm never sure with UMC TVs whether they're Vestel sourced or not. UMC do own factories including the ex-Sharp TV plant in Poland:
products.umc-slovakia.sk/abo…mc/

Presumably if they were Vestel designs they were assembling, future models will be more international given that Sharp has acquired a majority stake in the company.

And as Banana says, for this price Vestel can do as good a job as anyone.

When I initially set mine up the UMC logo appeared on the screen
Should say where it's assembled on the back then you will tell if its vestel or umc. I have no issues with the TV's just been on the recieving end of breakdowns, that said Samsung are low on my list for their QC.

Yeah, there haven't been many reports of Vestel TVs catching fire because the engineering tolerances were too small.
Crap software. Sharp smart TV. Bad choice I made.
