You pedal and watch TV at the same time.

this looks a good deal, 100hz refresh rate

WOW seems ok bar the sound, but you could always get a soundbar...HEAT OP If I hadn't bought the 43" inch Sony Bravia Smart Android TV,I'd get one, jesus i just might get one anyway

What was the original price of this? Has it always been this cheap? cant find it online

Same, always puts me off when you can't find no info online..

need a cheapo tv for the winter months for the bedroom. I have a sony w905 for as my main tv so I don't expect It to be as good as that.:{ I guess we could always send it back if the picture is crap.(_;)

will be going for this, been waiting for a good 50inch tv.
cant seem to tell if it has optical out though.

Crap TV. Avoid. Had the 60 inch version sharp TVS are useless.

Paid £540 for an LG55" so this is great value T.B.H.

Been this price a while, for anyone wondering. Argos had a 46 inch version for £269 a few months back. Can't see any better deals than this at the moment though.

Not sure it's true 100hz though, but it's still a good TV

Ok if you need 50" however if you do then I'd look at a Bush or Digihome as they won't be far off this and usually have smart features and can be cheaper if you can find stock, you'll also get smart TV and therefore Internet connectivity, which is useful for streaming without connecting other gear. Sharp name means nothing in TVs these days. However if you want a bargain TV check out the deal I posted, shameless plug sorry. I'm ashamed deal baiting on this thread, I apologise

Irrelevant information, and irrelevant comparison.

I'd wager this is a UMC product made in Slovakia. So will be very similar to Blaupunkt and other licensed brands, which is to say nothing special. You might as well get a Vestel made Bush which will have smart features.

So might as well get this over the Sharp, it has a better feature set, that is if you can find one in stock >

2" smaller but has smart features >

£50 more, it has smart features, yes I know the it's more money but not vastly more, yes I know you don't need in built smart features, but if you don't want to pay more to get streaming from a tablet , phone or pc/laptop then having smart means you have Internet connectivity and usually DLNA or other streaming method >

OK I'll play fair, I think this is the cheapest 50" TV in the UK unless you go for a refurbished Digihome 50" for £289 on Amazon.

Its got a LED AQUOS screen, so it doesn't matter where its assembled?
Got the 32 inch version and its GREAT. superb picture does USB2 recording/playback. ok the sound isn't up to the like of Panasonic but if you use external amp and speakers for the important stuff it doesn't matter. Now question is Can I justify the expense mid-month ??? Great find OP

Agreed. Just returning the 60 inch. It's a software issue. Tv won't turn on sometimes. Remote won't work. Issues with ps3 and ps4. Causes the sound and video to drop out intermittently. Not that great a tv but it's cheap. I've had every board replaced in my tv and still doesn't work. Defiantely a software issue. Sharp can't fix it.

You watch anything fast moving. Eg football and you see lots of ghosting. Also picture isn't great and menus are presented poorly. Plus it's Sharp!

AQUOS is nothing to do with the screen but describes the fluid connection between all AQUOS devices such as soundbars. AQUOS is a no set up required link between the devices and has nothing to do with screen technology.

does the hisense have a vga port to connect a pc? Richer sounds site says it doesn't but hisense site says it does :-/

I had to pay to return it back to them because they said there was nothing wrong even though I showed them videos.

i really wouldn't these are coming back thick n fast

It's not really a Sharp is it. According to research Sharp only make the high end market of their tv's and not those sold in Supermarket which may be made by Vestel or someone else. In fact looking on google it appears that the only branded tv manufacturer you can be sure of having their own panel in them is LG. Samsung use up to four different manufacturers for their tv screens including their own. Rumour also has it that some Sonys do not have their panel in them either and are made by AU Optronics.

you wouldnt what and coming back where?

Sharp TVs are the best. After I got my LED Aquos few years back all my friends followed the same. We all just loved it so much that we are not ready to buy any other TV but Sharp. We all have 46" Full HD. Absolutely loving it.

I got this, but am soon to return it. I didn't expect miracles in this price range, but it is pretty poor. The tv this was replacing was a 40 inch sharp, but a proper one in comparison. This is UMC made, it advises you to go to the UMC site for help setting it up when you first tune it in.
OK, so my issues with it:

Freeview tuner must be poor I could get all the HD channels on my previous sharp, this cannot do it with the same aerial.
I experience a lot of ghosting on anything fast moving.
The HDMI source labelling is messed up. For example, my firestick is plugged into hdmi port 1. On the tv it shows as port 3. I couldn't work out why the tv info was showing it as resolution 720, when I know I had it set up as 1080. Thats because it ws reading another port.
Remote becomes unresponsive when using hdmi cec for a bit. Only option is to turn tv off at the plug.
The wall mount point is at the lower part of the back of the tv, not central. So this means it will sit much higher on an existing wall mount.
Finally, the sound is awful.

I can only assume the good reviews were from people coming from CRT tv's.
