Looks good

can this be price matched at PCWorld (£800)

No - the current PC World price match list at
pcworld.co.uk/mar…ise

"This price promise applies to:
Argos, Comet, Currys, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, B&Q, Game Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Maplin, Staples, Toys R Us."

ie an ever shorter and incompatible list of "competitor" stores!

If buying a TV from Dell suggest (a) making sure you 100% file the paperwork; (b) you phone them BEFORE you need their warranty/support to be sure they have your TV on their system totally accurately with any/all reference/support numbers. That's based on a friend where Dell completely DENIED selling him the Dell TV he had from them !!!

MKD

This seems to be the cheapest in its class. Not really big enough for me though. I'll wait until the bigger ones get a bit cheaper until I ditch my old 42 plasma.
Heat added.

thanks for the info

can't give you rep :-( it won't let me, I have to spread my rep apparently according to the hotukdeals system

Spec wise, this seems a very similar deal to the LG that Currys/Dixons were selling for a similar price (£549) on boxing day. Good price, Heat Added

LG suck donkey balls. How can you compare a Sharp to an LG?

watching Shrek will never be the same again

Good price theres only £5~ profit in this for the company. £506.36 cost from the distributor..

Tempted

What's the cheapest way to get an extended warranty for this, or indeed any HDTV?

Strongly suggest to get extended warranty with purchase. My grandparents have 37 inch model and it's been to repair shop twice. In both cases power supply needed to be replaced.

So many features so little quality.

100Mhz, wow, thats amazing! refeshng at 100 million times a second. It must have a 100Mhz cpu to process that too.

Do they? I thought LGs were quite good.

Sharp TVs always seem priced way below the competition of similar spec. Is there a reason for this?

None Sharp are a very good make - number 1 in Japan by a long way, just they never seem to advertise as much as Panasonic or Sony in the rest of the world, hence they aren't as recognised.

As to this TV its big brother the 46" has only had one review and that's in Italian, but it basically says its the second best LCD they have EVER reviewed. Only been out a couple of weeks but at this price and if its as good as its bigger brother these will be selling faster than they can get them.

Note the 46" version can be had for £730 elsewhere Dell has it at £870, so Dell are not the best for that one.

Ive seen the 46" one its amazing, its what made me get this.

In case your interested, its taking 5 working days to deliver

Lokks great, and good price.

i will heat this up for you but didn't want to spend that much for the bedroom tips would be happy

Good deal, but for the cost of a 5 yr warranty you can get the 46" version with 5yr at home warranty

Got a link? i can still cancel my order. So 46" for 620?

Original Poster

because i posted it on here my order is now delayed due to order exceeding expectations. mug

You can have my unit that they've ordered - I've ordered one, changed my mind within 48 hours, tried to cancel the order before delivery date has even been confirmed and have been told that I can't have my refund until they have delivered it and I've returned it.

I don't think Dell understand their own terms and conditions clause 7.3 - Cancel up to 7 days after delivery for any reason!

Ordered mine on 30th March - they don't expect to deliver until 23rd April :-|

Any company selling these you should phone them up ask if they are in stock and tell them you are only going to order if they actually have them in stock. none of this on order from supplier (It's bull) otherwise you will be parted with your cash for over 1 month and will struggle to get it back and then to top it off after a very long wait they will cancel, saying supplier cannot supply. (It's a scam they have got going with Sharp:lol) Avoid any shop selling them without them actually owning them

Mine was ordered on 1st April and has now been put off from the 9th to the 21st of April :x not happy!, has anyone received one of these yet?? is there anyway to cancel if they keep fobbing around?

Original Poster

mine has now been delayed until the end of may, what a joke i am gonna cancel

I emailed asking if the estimated date was likely to move further away again. Here's their reply:

"In relation to the email sent , I have checked on the progress of your Dell order – and it’s in pre production.

You should expect delivery of your order on (or before) 23/04/09 . The delivery date listed is only an estimate date and our team will still be hoping to EXCEED that – and deliver earlier."

I'm dubious. How is a TV in pre-production?

Hmm strange , mines still showing as the 23rd as well, just bloody hope they don't delay it any further or I'm cancelling!. I thought they would either have them in stock or actually ready to be sent in straight from the manufacturer , so much for 'delivery within 1-2 weeks!'

Original Poster

hey i think this tv is brand new as on those other websites the price has rocketed up, some are showing £700, this could have been a misprice

They just sent me this...

Order Date: 30th March 2009

Original Estimated Delivery Date: 7th April 2009

New Revised Estimated Delivery Date: 7th May 2009

...It's starting to get silly. :whistling:

SCAM

The hut did it to me for over a month and kept my money for over a month.

If you try and cancel I suspect these will tell you, you cannot as it's gone to dispatch.

Original Poster

I rang them and they are saying its just an estimate and its going to be on or before the 23rd April, might as well wait

I just got an email saying mines been changed from the 23rd of April to the 11th of March!, if it doesn't arrive by the 23rd i'm cancelling!

They said Wednesday for me!

another date change... 30th April.

You really need to cancel and if you have already been charged (which you have ) start the refund process or hassle (has anyone on here had theirs delivered with proof) to stop windup merchants
