Unlikely, they would have stocked for an general increase at the beginning of the world cup but England were never expected to go very far. No retailer would have bought stocks based on England getting further then the second round. Had England been tipped to get to the semis then maybe they would have had overstocks.

This looks like a supermarket model - and those are typically substandard. Freeview HD is nice, but 2 HDMI is a not a lot, and overall I just do not see the deal.

PS: Cold for lying ehm "agressive marketing" - this is *not* 100Hz.

This seems to be a Retail product as Sharp list it on its UK Website and it is 100Hz. Well, according to them anyway.

Jumped in and bought this tv - very impressed. Also bought the Panasonic 39 inch tv which went to 1600 + degrees and the Sharp has in my opinion a much better standard Freeview picture. Sound and HD picture are even on both sets. The menu on the Sharp is more or less the same as the Panasonic so it seems both sets are possibly made in the same factory with the same software. 5 year guarantee also has been confirmed with Sharp - altogether an excellent deal.
