This is a beast of a microwave, it's HUGE inside (but also outside - check your workspaces for room). But it's also really well specced and it cooks a mean 2kg Roast Chicken in 57 minutes to perfection.

I bought one in 2011, and it rocked right through until today. So I'm buying another one at a cheaper price than I paid back then. There is nothing on the market to beat it at this price, if you've got the space.

Manufacturer blurb follows:

Sharp combination microwave oven offers you a multitude of different cooking options, cleverly combining the benefits of microwave, grill and convection oven. You can bake, roast or grill just as you would with a conventional oven, only faster. With upto 40 litre capacity, it's certainly large enough to cater for any occasion. The Sharp R959SLMAA microwave oven allows you to cook on both shelves simultaneously. The reason for this is the conventional cooking function works in the same way as a standard convection oven. The results are that the Sharp R959SLMAA is perfect for those who like to bake in batches. As the Sharp microwave oven features a quartz grill it ensures that the food heats up fast, is easy to clean and safe to use and leaves more space in the cavity for cooking and ultimately gives fantastic grilling results. Enjoy a host of further advanced features including express cook and express defrost plus a double grill function that's perfect for crisp pizzas straight from frozen.

Blimey, I thought mine was big at 32L - fantastic price. Can't comment on Sharp but I found the cheaper Panasonic models were awful quality and reliability-wise - and used the halogen element for grill and oven, so it wasn't a "real" convection oven.

Hopefully the cheap price doesn't mean they scrimp on certain features.
i have one of these.... its worth every penny of the £250 i paid for over 6 years ago... still going strong.
Thanks ordered, also same price at argos
Price looks good

Go on Live Chat and ask them to refund the difference. Or order again and then send this new one back under the first order
is the inside stainless steel?

Good thinking
I'm not sure if Amazon are doing the "price drop difference" refunds like they used to - last time I asked they said No!!

Ditto.

Amazon are slowly becoming more tight.
ibtimes.co.uk/ama…783 (this article is from May 2016)

"Amazon has quietly ended its price protection policy for all products other than televisions. According to reports from Amazon shoppers, customers can no longer claim a partial refund for items that fall in price after being purchased.

It's worth noting the end of the seven-day price match policy is applicable to all Amazon online stores worldwide, not just its US .com site...."

"Customers who purchase a TV from Amazon only to find a lower price on another qualifying retailer's website within 30 days are eligible for a refund in the form of an Amazon gift card. If Amazon lowers its own price within 30 days of purchase, customers can get the difference refunded."

Nice price, have some heat, gets good reviews as well.
We had two of these & loved the combination oven and the size, would buy another one but don't really do big family meals anymore.
Brilliant microwave and have had it many years, and if I had the space, I would buy another one for when it goes wrong!
Had one for years. Good microwave and the oven is huge almost like having a 2nd full size oven.
These are really good microwaves if you want something closer to a proper oven and grill and I recall they were highly rated by which when I was initially getting one of these years ago. I bought another after the magnetron went on my first but trying to sell my second one now as I've had to downsize! I was a bit disappointed that the newer ones come with oven tray type inserts rather than proper oven shelves but really doesn't make much difference

These are great as you can use them like the oven for grill and baking.
I have one its brilliant and if there was any stock near me I would be getting another as this is so many years old now, If you are lucky enough to find one make sure you carefully measure the height of it if you have cupboards above as I do. I don't have huge trims on my units as some are but the microwave literally only just goes under it

What a surprise ... was looking for a microwave, settled on this - Argos out of stock. Thought I bet someone highlighted this on HotUKDeals, come here, bingo! I hate this place sometimes.

Same. I rang and was told that more stock would be arriving on the 30th (Sunday?).......couldn't guarantee it would still be on offer

You'd make a good sleeping aid for insomniacs
Is it sensible/practical to use the convection oven setting as a replacement to a conventional oven?
Showing as OOS on Argos for me.

My mum never used the oven once she got this. It works like an oven, except it is even faster as it can microwave and roast at the same time to speed up cooking time. Delicious result.

I went ahead and ordered the Hotpoint(/Whirlpool) MWH33343B from the clearance site, £143 vs £269 at ao.com(2% cashback) - reviews seemed decent from buyers - one official review said it was a bit large and a bit noisy but was a decent microwave and cooked well. Comes with a two year guarantee which is a good sign.

Review here, defrosting isn't hugely important for me, I was just looking for something that cooked well and was reliable with a decent guarantee -

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/home-appliances/microwaves/1404959/hotpoint-ultimate-collection-mwh33343b-microwave-review

Haven't bought a microwave in ages and looking at user reviews is really confusing, for instance tonnes of them seem to have reliability issues - except nobody will mention them on one site and give them top marks, then you go to another site(where it's equally as popular), and you'll get loads of "one star", "it's rubbish", complaints(Panasonic CT555WBPQ comes to mind).

Sharp don't make microwaves they sold the name to Vestel

Looks like Argos are back to normal pricing ... so for anyone who's interested the Hotpoint just arrived. It's big(made the UPS driver huff and puff) and looks well built. Couple of pics -
