1 BOUGHT THANKYOU
Vestel or not, still a steal for a 40" TV for under £200. Have some heat and ordered.
Good price. Have some heat
Heat.

Quick question for TV enthusiasts is hdmi 2 a big step from hdmi 1.4?
Good find op! This will keep my dad happy after the floods. He hates paying over the odds for a telly he hardly uses.
Shame about the stand! Pet hate that type of stand, need a big and wide unit for it and legs most likely do not adjust.
good find op, heat
1368 x 768 - oh wait.................................

Bought this when it was £199 for our work TV. Viewing angles are a bit off, and it DOESN'T handle motion well - some quite severe ghosting in darker scenes. Also the really annoying thing when you're going through the EPG is, it actually changes to each channel as you're looking through for something to watch. This has been a sensible quick review. As opposed to some turnip on a professional review site (whathifi I think) saying "the back of the TV is ugly". (_;)
great saved £20 over what i was going to pay this morning. for the sons room now he will never leave home
would this be decent for ps4 ?

Was just about to buy this as well.

Was just about to buy this as well.

Depends what your usage will be. For us at work it has to be a workhorse. And for general viewing it's okay and does the job. But for the full lights out, mini-cinema experience, save up a bit more.
thanks OP. voted hot.
just got refund from Tesco. great customer service. Hoping to be smoking hot.

A HiSense that I purchased and a few days later returned, misbehaved in the EPG in the same incorrect manner (it also took far too many clicks to get to the EPG in the first place). This has similar feet to the HiSense.

Incorrect..? I thought it was a design feature as opposed to an error.

Correct. It’s a design error that it behaves in such an incorrect manner. It should not behave this way, and the designer is an idiot for designing it in this manner.
tempting but i dont trust sharp...

all they said was they bought one they didn't need sarcastic crap in return. this site is full anger etc these days
Ordered it for £199 last week, emailed and they've refunded £20. You get what you pay for with this, pixel density isnt great and the dark areas are pretty muddy. I use as a bedroom TV, I wouldnt recommend it for a lounge tv etc.
infidel1690

would this be decent for ps4 ?

nope!
someone has already mentioned motion blurr so unless it has got a dedicated gaming mode dont bother

This is a typical behaviour of all tv's made by Vestel.

But its not made by Vestel!
So which is better? This one or the Digihome 42" one that's currently £169?

Haven't really compared the specs yet, just wondered which was better as a cheap bedroom tv/games monitor?

In Europe and UK,only genuine TV brands are : Samsung,LG and Sony.the rest are either fully "rented to Chineese/Turkish manufacturers or are semi "fake" semi real,(like Panasonic).if you want quality, your best bet is to avoid anything except Samsung,LG and Sony..otherwise go ahead with these dodgy deals..but remember what you get has nothing to do with Sharp,JVC,Toshiba or Panasonic,etc..
since they "ket" their brand names to sh*** Chineese/Turkish companies to use in UK/Europe.

Bought this at £199 last week. How do people get the difference refunded as it says on their faq that they won't honour the new price unless you return?

And it's a decent tv for the money. Got it in my bedroom.
Cheap for a reason I'm sure

I certainly wouldn't dismiss all rebadged tv's though. Thing's have come a long way in recent years in regards to LCD production and quality and even the cheapest brands produce half decent pictures.

I suspect most people would be very happy with this tv.

Might just pick this up as a basic TV to connect a Android TV Box, but £100 saving compared to a Samsung / Sony on Richer Sounds with 6 yr Warranty and a better product might sway me away.

Richer sounds do not have any offers on a decent 40" LG now, such a shame!

Wondering if i should buy now or wait for the "January" sales... What say HUKD experts?
It says HDMI 2 but i need someone to confirm this.

Also if i do not like the product, can i return it to Tesco in 28 Days? are there any conditions?

Its about 0.6 which works out at about 42.9% of a step up if my maths are correct.

Cheers
